There are soooOOOoOOo many posts about tiny women complaining they can never find anything to wear, average women complaining, plus size women complaining...

My turn!

Unless you are built like one of those super-cut twinky-boi models, or don't mind looking like a member of the Village People, there just isn't any decent commercially-available clothing for men of average through fat sizes... or for the skinny guys either.  Everything is fitted for 6-pack abs and chiseled ass cheeks.

So I got to thinking... yes, dangerous, especially when doped up with Darvocet and coffee, what do male Doms normally wear?  I know what *I* wear, but what else is there, really, besides looking like an extra on some pirate movie, or like a PVC-wrapped sausage?

I believe it depends upon where you are going. My Master wears suits for business functions, khakis or jeans to hang out and shorts when its hot outside.

There are some who are really into leather, just as many choose to  wear fetish wear to lifestyle events.

I dont think there is a rule book regarding proper attire for either Doms or subs. Its a personal choice, nothing more, nothing less.

Umm.. well. I was actually meaning gear/garb to wear during a scene, to play parties, etc...

Smiles, actually thats not much different.  At local events that weve been to, dress varies from person to person.  Some wear leather, some come casual.. It all depends upon what image you want to project.
I understand how it can be hard to find clothes for Big/tall men, especially if you are looking for leather.  Try goggling.  Its amazing what you can find online :)

Master Archer has a few basic 'looks', depending on the situation.

  • Black BDU's with some kind of clean and pressed t-shirt. Black Tanker boots. Leather vest.
  • Black leather pants with white of black tux shirt and either western tuxedo waist coat or vest. Black tanker boots or black dressage boots.
  • Black jeans with clean and pressed t-shirt. Leather vest. Black tanker boots or black ropers.
  • Black jeans with dark colored polo style shirt. Black ropers or black tactical trainers.
  • For fun..and novelty...leather armor. (not good for play!)

Leather pants are often good, and you can usually find some cut like trousers or like jeans. If you shop around, you can find leather pants in different cuts (just like normal pants, some have a little more room in the butt, some have slimmer legs, and so on), so, six-pack-abs or no, you can likely find something that fits well. No ass cheeks? There are pants, they call them "low rise" or "short rise," that accentuate an ass. Once you find the pair that makes you look like that "chiseled fetish model," you can wear it over and over. I like leather pants with a dress shirt, perhaps cotton with a little sheen to it or silk if you're adventurous. Rich or deep colors can suit many men, and can make an outfit seem more adventurous and special, since guys often need to wear pastel shirts in the workplace. Black is a popular choice, but I think it's more interesting and attractive to choose a color, perhaps a dark green or purple (depending on your skin and hair colors, of course!) or at least a black shirt with an interesting pattern.

If the event doesn't have a dress code, you could comfortably wear wool trousers or jeans. I'm partial to button-down shirts, but knits (like t-shirts, and those dressy t-shirt-like sweater-shirts) can be good, too. For a theme or overall "look", a rough, denim-oriented, sort of laborer outfit; a military look; or a conservative suit or suit-like choice, depending on which one is best for your general image, can work well and project authority. Jackets in interesting colors and fabrics are good, too. Some of the clothes I've liked were a bit dandyish, but I thought that was a good way to make clothes a little more festive and fetish-appropriate without, as you say, crossing the line into the Village People.

Hm...some guys wear kilts, too, and some wear them very well. You get nice accesories, too--you get to wear many different kinds of gloves, and with the right combination of short-sleeved shirt and gloves, your forearms can look really nice. And big clunky boots make your legs look hotter. And you get the authentic *and* authoritative uniforms, although that might be too Halloweeny for you. Truthfully, I'm optimistic about the idea of kinky het or het-ish guys getting creative with fetish fashion--with few standard, iconic images of the het dom man, there's a lot of potential to create your own image of dominance.

Yes, yes they do...excuse me, must go wipe the drool from my mouth *wink*

LOVE kilts on men (Sir, you know this).  Being "bigger" always makes finding clothing you like a challenge.  Tailor made is always a great route, but on the norm, i prefer the jeans (new, ripped, faded, doesn't matter) and t-shirt route...so "normal" that it makes your imagination run rampant *smile*

Do I need to dig out my kilt now? ;-)

Thanks for the input.. I guess I'm still looking for that "magical" combination of looking kinky without looking cliche...

Hrmm.. ripped jeans and a t-shirt.. sounds like stage-wear to Me. ;-)

i am partial to leather pants and chaps cause of this hot fantasy i have...that involves me on my knees and just the button and zipper undone...(side note...that can be reallllllly frustrating at a gay leather event)...i have seen guys with no ass wear chaps quite well, think is they had to wear jeans that fit REALLY well, under them
other than that i am parial to the heavy boots (well boots on anyone are usually HOT) with well worn jeans (any color, just not stiff) -- rolled up at the cuff or tucked into the boots if the boots are the right style and the jeans are fairly tight...and of course if at some point durring the night the boots ended up on my flesh, that would be hot too...
as for the top half...if you wear a leather vest anything under it or nothing even, works, depends on your style...i've seen some people look less domly in black than others in bright red or white...but, if you're trying to blend in...wear black...if you're not, wear whatever you're comfortable with -- black, white, purple with green polka dots...but wear it with confidence...other people see it...

a note on the kilts...while incredibly hot if you have good sized legs (chicken legs just don't balance out) be prepared to answer "whatcha wearing under there?" about once per every ooh 3 people at an event....cause apparently we can't help but say it, and we think we're being sneaky when we do...

good luck...and if all else fails...we can do a leather queer eye for the straight guy....hmmmm

Trust me.. I know.

Normally in response to that question I'll respond "shoes and socks"...  or "A gentlemen never tells, although I would never stop someone from finding out themselves."  What a great way to be gratuitously groped all night.

You take that back!  There's no such thing as gratuitous groping.  It's always either too little, or just the right amount.

At local events I see:
Men in black slacks with a Dragonfly (brandname) shirt on top, and shoes of choice though most often I see motorcycle boots, combat boots, or cowboy boots.
Jeans, white t-shirt, black leather vest
Jeans with leather chaps over the top ~wiping my mouth from the drool~
Black leather pants with a white wife beater
Fishnet shirts with any of the above
PVC pants while topless or with fishnet shirt
leather harnesses ~wipes drool again~
Kilts with anything from traditional Scottish garb on top to a Dragonfly shirt on top

M goes for jeans and a Dragonfly shirt most of the time, while he sometimes wears chaps or a leather vest for my benefit. He worries less about what he looks like and more about what I look like just because he likes to preen when someone compliments me, and he never believes compliments to himself anyway.

~E  ~edited to add kilts~

I usually just go with the 40+ pounds of chainmail at gatherings and stuff.  Not specifically fetish related garb, but it matches my floggers and cuffs and goes with just about anything from leather to ripped jeans. (metal is the new black)

During a "scene" it doesn't really matter, because it usually just comes off anyway.
