I am 47, and the older I get, I've noticed that my definition of what I consider to be "old" (in terms of chronologocal years) keeps changing. Right now my idea of someone being old is at the age of about 85 or so (I think someone else mentioned 85 as being what they consider "old" as well). Maybe it isn't unusual for people to re-vamp their notion of the age they consider "old" as they themselves age. I remember when I was 23 or so, I thought 47 was ancient!~ People also live longer than they used to live. When I was 10 years old, my grandfather died at the age of 63, and at the time, that was considered a respectably long life to have lived. Now it would be considered "too early" to die a natural death - "too young" to die. My dad is 73, and in near perfect health. I really don't think of him as "old", he looks pretty good for 73, and he doesn't color his hair or anything like that, he's just in pretty good shape for a 73 year old guy. He is also very energetic, and still plays lots of golf. I expect him to live to be at least 90 (his own father, my grandfather, lived to be 92. For the record, I do consider 92 years to be "old"). - Susan
