It is a funny thing. Almost everything we do in life has rules and/or protocols, whether set up by the game we are playing or the job we are doing or the church we are attending. Here we have a structured dynamic in which the very fact that it is structured indicates that rules are in place and people run from the word protocol.
To me, it indicates certain rituals and / or rules set in place to govern behavior. And given my military training, my healthcare training, hell...even my training as a parent...I have no problem with it and find that I enjoy at least certain aspects of it.
