Lol - dommy dearest...

okay I had another thought  you could do something with this:
BITTERSWEETS - well maybe that would be better for another book.
I've been trying to come up with a reprint or collection title that indicates the scifi fantasy element of your work but most of what I've thought up is too long though.  A title is better in my opinion if it is short and punchy so visually easy to find by the binding.  Once my eye is caught by the binding I will pull it out and peruse the backflap and preface etc. for more info.  But a good graphic design could easily imply the scifi furturistic element.

Good luck Tammyjo - having anything published at all is exciting - but a repub and collection is a true honor.

Flashback to Kink ..or plain Flashbacks: A Collection of Favorites .. or Back to the Dungeon (can't remember if someone said that and it's way too late at night..lol..so if someone did, my apologies). And on that note..off to bed, i think...

Re-enforce the darkside..............

Interesting but that suggests its fanfic.

I want the cover to be honest about what is inside.

And my face is never going the front of any of my books; need to be some serious discussion before I'd let it on the back though "Servants" has it on the back inside cover. I just don't think I personally send out the signal of "sadistic but loving erotica" -- that's more a getting to know me thing.

These are all great points.

I'm a writer, this marketing stuff is sort of odd to me. I'm trying more with more conventions and more online information but marketing is not a talent I have so it's just a skill I'm learning.

Thanks for more suggestions, Petronius.

Of course given your name here I have to ask: Do you have a classical education or background by any chance?

(always looking for a good slave secretary with a background in ancient history or classics)

Thank you for the suggestions especially the second one that expands on the first idea, sublimelysensual.

I've added it to my list.

My goal is to make the decision by the end of the week.

I have four stories in the collection now but I'm stuck on which story to include from the "Amazons" collection (my second book). Stories based on classical legends tend to be kind of downers.

OK this isn't original ... but I think the answer is right there in Your tagline ... Love, Peace, Hugs, Kisses, Whips & Chains

Maybe not original, but it didn't pop into my mind, MaamJay.

Thank you for pointing this out.

I think herotica is already in use as a lesbian sex anthologies book.

Obviously the name needs to sell the book and describe the gist of the book.   Erotic Fantasies of a Lifestyle Mistress The Musings of an Alpha Female/Woman

interestingly enough, I went to your website, tried to get a sense of you and came up with " Love, Peace, Hugs, Kisses, Whips & Chains, TammyJo" Exactly what someone else had written. Bizarre. xo Sophia

Exactly. This is why it's difficult for me.

I'm not a marketing anything, not even a novice in my opinion.

But I'm also not a stereotype and I don't to mislead anyone into thinking my early (and current) stories are anything other than what they are.

I was thinking of "Diamond Edged" as part of a title but I'd have to get permission from Cecilia Tan who wrote this on the back of Justice in 1999.

I'd added your suggestions to my list, Dianna. Thank you!

Hmmm... I'll note you both for the idea then.

I hope to make a decision by Friday or Saturday with feedback from my friends, family and the publisher (of course).

I'm still trying to decide between "A Woman Scorned" or "Journey Unto Warrior" for the Amazon example. I have a word limit so I can't include them both.

All of your feedback, everyone, is very much appreciated.

ready4srvce4all -> RE: Looking for Suggestions -- Free book possible (7/11/2007 7:38:20 PM)

Hmmm....I doubt for legal and copywrite reasons you could use this.   but here's my submission ..."Watterson Revisted"

Of course, please don't take this as me insulting you or the publisher...it worked for Watterson, to the tune of what, 18 months and in how many newspapers?  Yet when he returned to writing new material, popularity only went higher.

Best of luck to you, and though I do show my impudence in these threads from time to time, this is an honest and serious submission.

Thank you for looking at my entry,
Robert

You have a wonderful writing style. I think a collection of your works is a good idea if it's complied well and you find the right name. I would stay clear of catchy names like "Diamond Edge", I don’t feel, would work for a collection and you always need to consider eye appeal. It’s a marketing fact that when a person is going through a list of books on Amazon they are first going to be drawn to the name. A large percentage of your market is going to be novices and curious seekers. That is the market you should appeal to. The name really needs to jump out at you and since it is a collection leaves it open for other volumes.

My two titles ran to get.

  I personally like, although long:

Erotic Musings of a Lifestyle Dominant Woman
I would then ask the publisher to insert slightly different color pages or a color boarder around pages in sections which will be like journal entries, so to speak about your life. You have an interesting life and if you take some special occurrences, embellish them, it gives the reader an inside peek of into the mind of the author. People love that.
