Why is it so hard for so many men, dom and sub to read a profile?

Ladies, are you having problems with this too?

I get at least 4 messages a week from men who obviously haven’t read my profile.   I’m a switch… I like to top friends in scenes… I’m also owned and I say it in very big bold letters on my profile. Just incase someone is just looking through pic I have a pic of Master and I as well.

Yet I still get messages, from subs like “Hello..would you be interested in being in charge of my internet activity?  I have parental controls that you can autoadminister over the internet and I'm looking for a Mistress who would like this control and can be strict:)..let me know if you are interested and I'll send you the login info

You alone get say in when I get to be online and what sites I can visit and when I can chat

Thanks,”
Or from doms, like, “you will call Me Master. you are My slut. When you come to Me in --- I will lock you in a cage in My living room. you will be let out only when I am home to clean, pleasure Me, and to be punished….”

It’s always the same messages over and over… a word changes her or there… but for the most part it’s the same, tired old shit.

I don’t like sounding like a bitch… but it’s so frustrating to always see messages like that. What’s the point of even writing a profile if people don’t read it. Or if they do read it they don’t respect the subject’s wishes?

Shylah

Of course, females NEVER do the same thing...

Can we get off the gender stereotypes already?  That's what is "the same, tired old shit."

Maybe when I stop getting messages from females refering to me as "slave" (you don't even have to view my profile to see my "switch" classification in the listings) I'll consider the possibility that they might be more considerate as a gender.

I'm just talking about what I know.

I don't get many messages from women.

Shylah, what were those pretty pink things scattered all over your post?

This man would like to know.

You've been posting and reading for months, you haven't figured out that profiles do NOTHING to keep people from emailing you?

If you have read the forums for over two weeks the answer is self evident.

Well, you read a profile or three, find one you like, type out a long , detailed letter mentioning a dozen things from her profile, a dozen common grounds, ect, ect, ect ect... notice it gets read and never replied to. So, after doing this X times, you write a letter half as long. Then you realise its a numbers game, and either get bored and do something else, or, start increasing the numbers. And really, the more complicated your situation is the less likely you are to find the one key that matches up to your lock. So, why should we bother? You get the small (maybe small, i dunno) subset of men who are sending out mass numbers, and if 10% responds and .1% does what they want.... they win.

And people arent real people on the internet... youre here to entertain me.

maybe because its inordinately long...i couldn't even read all of it and i am most definately a girl...on the other hand, i wouldn't email you if i couldn't get thru the whole profile...

i advise that if you don't want the guys to email you with bs, take down the sexy/cute pics...my being trolled has gone down since i took off my cleavage pic..well actually now i get more offers from lesbian Dominants so...whatever that means...

but you will always be sent stupid emails amongst the serious, so if they are stupid...delete them

The fact is that when it comes to posting profiles, men and women have opposite problems.  Women get inundated with responses-mostly bad
ones-and are saddled with the unenviable task of  weeding out the jerks, bozos, and freaks.  Men on the other hand get so few responses that they often become desparate, and send responses to any woman thinking "what the hell, worst she can do is say no"  as if that actually works (yea right!) or perhaps they subconsciously choose not to notice that he's not what she's looking for, again out of desparation.  But of course there's NO EXCUSE for guys doing this.  Get a clue guys, the more of these kind of responses women get the less likely they are to maintain their profile.

i stopped wearing my fingers out on long emails...if i don't get a response after sending a couple of sentences, then not much time is lost on them

because 98% of the men on this site do their browsing through profiles one-handed.

Honestly? I haven't gotten a single email of the "You will be my slut!" variety... I've been called "little one" by complete strangers a few times (which annoys the hell out of me), and gotten a few single sentence emails, but nothing outrageously disrespectful. I've been called quite a few horrible names for expressing disinterest (determined by first impressions and my own personal criteria), but watching "doms" lose their tempers over something so slight, just proves I was right to not be interested in the first place.

Yup.. i agree. i did the same thing before i met my Master.  I actually got one a few days ago where it said " Why are you not looking for a master?" i just shook my head (apparently my bitch side came out) because i responded, apparently you can't read.... i'm collared.. therefore not looking) Never heard anything yet.

The other thing i hate is when someone writes one of those "form" type e-mails that probably gets sent to about 20 different females. Not even mentioning anything in my profile.. <sadly shakes head>
