Has there ever been a time in your life where you never felt so scared, yet felt so alive?  i am sure you all can guess what mine was, i am just curious what your experience was.

I ran into a mountain lion once while on a camping trip with a buddy in Northen Arizona.  It didn't register in my mind what could have happened to me when I ran screaming at it to chase it off until after we got back to our campsite.  I spent the next half hour laughing like a maniac.  heheheh  I have never felt more in tune with myself as a human being than I did that day.

I've been held at gunpoint, twice. Pretty scary, and it's times like those I'm grateful for a strong bladder.

Sorry for the delayed response, Popeye.  Mine was skydiving.  Scared the bejeezus outta me never have i been so afraid.... i felt every breath, every nerve.  Freefalling from 13,500 feet and watching the ground rise up at a rapid rate (word has it we were travelling at 120 mph)... every fiber of me was alive.  It was awesome. (And i am doing it again on Friday)

Ditto.  After I realised I hadn't been shot; I felt very much alive!

angelic,

Pretty much every day.

I'm a "dive in" kinda guy.

I pay the price for it--I also reap the rewards.

But that's just me.

Best,

Tim

Yup. 23 months ago I had that experience.
For several months I'd been sick and had pretty bad stomach pains, I assumed it was stress due to going through a divorce. One morning I was awakened by really sharp pain and (sorry it is icky lol) I was throwing up so hard I was flinging myself against the wall in recoil.

I was unaware but my gallbladder had burst inside me. I knew without a doubt that if I didn't get to the ER immediately I was going to die. I did not want to die, despite the divorce and losing my job I had this feeling of trying to physically hold on to life. There were too many people to love for me to let go, there was too much I wanted to do.

So many things were realised in that moment, so much came into perspective. Thankfully most of it has stayed with me. I donate more, I try and help others even more than I had previously. I realised that one person can make a difference in the world even if it is just a teensy difference.

Ended up in a 6 hour surgery with 29 staples across my stomach and a 10 day ICU stay. It was the most humbling moment I've had yet to date.

Time IS short, it is precious. Life is wonderous and humanity fills me with awe. Tell the people that you love how you feel. Don't count on being able to tell them tomorrow.

Grab as much life as you can and don't let go. There is so much to learn, so much to see that one lifetime isn't enough but if you try it makes all the difference.

here are two that just popped up. ...at age 9, giving a piano recital before 2000+ people in Florence, standing and bowing at the end.....and 2 minutes of silence from the audience before they applauded.

another occurred in Mexico when i was 25.......long haired and raggedy looking in Guadalejara, suddenly surrounded by machine gun toting soldiers who looked all of 16 and more scared than i was.
