Ive noticed pictures of celebrities, and others on profiles and just wondered why you dont show yourself? Im discreet also and use a mask. But to post someone other than yourself is just wrong. Just curious why you do it?

I had one user link me pictures from other profiles... A simple right click (somehow, she made them links, too) and a new window proved the pictures to not be her. It was a shame, she seemed pretty cool. Oh well.

If you're speaking of the message boards, one can use the profile picture, or from a designated series of avatars. It cannot be helped if people use avatars of known people.

Or of unknown feet for that matter.

Sir makes an excellent point.
If someone is cruising CM or bondage or alt, they must be somehow into the scene to even be on the web site.
Sir knows a ton of people, in fact a story told by Bill Schroder is about him!
Look up Bill Schroder. Milwaukee people know who he is.
Is he afraid to show his picture on the site? No. He has NEVER in his 40 years as a "legal" tax paying adult come across someone who "outed him" on a BDSM website.
And folks, Milwaukee aint small !!

Collarme wont let me post my pics. Bondage does and so does alt.
I personally think you have a right to choose if you wish your face on the website. It SHOULD say nothing about being "real, fake, imposter" if you dont.
But if you have the dishonesty to put up another's likeness, as a representative of yourself, then you, for sure are one, without honor.

All 3 sites mentioned allow you to put up any picture to their guidelines and all 3 are slightly different. So I can use a part of me on 2 sites but not here.

If I ever saw my pic on someone else profile, I aint coming here and whining about it, I go right there, to the source.

I do see one Anais Nin quote often on profiles ...usually prefaced by "I saw this on someone's profile and liked it so took it....." It use to bother me as if they couldnt be original enough and research Anais Nin.....but its over my greasy back now. Who cares !!

The copyright tool is available for your own protection and yes your pics can be creatively touched up so they wont be stolen. Just do it.

And what is the likely hood of Brad Pitt or Angolina Jolie or any other celebrity putting their OWN pic up or profile on this site for "mere commoneers" ..... they have their own scene...they dont need to crash ours.
So think about 1 + 1. It dont equal 3. So when your brain starts to add and comes up with 3 ~~ if it smells hokie it is hokie

Hello MsPleasure. I use an avatar for security reasons. But then again, as stated in my profile, I would not mind sending pictures of me and my submissive in a private secure mode. People are not that interested, possibly because they would have to show who they really are also.... RL

i have a question related to this subject.

why is it that some people post the same picture over and over again? when one goes to click the arrows to move from one to the other, it's the same picture. why is that?

Well... I guess I have to disagree to some extent with what has been said. Not everyone who finds themselves here has a personal interest, or serious interest in bdsm. Also would like to point out that bdsm encompasses much. I took very specific pictures that would (hopefully) capture something of my appearance and personality without specifically showing who I am. I have a vanilla job and life and where some twirp from my area to come here, find my photo and blab to my um's or employer, I would suffer some not fun consequences. I have no problemo showing more specific photo's to people as I get to know them, unlike some posers coughdomiguycough, I know on this site who CLEARLY don't have the balls (altough apparently quite a dong) to do so.

What gets me is a profile pic that is 20 years old and an incorrect age and they didn't think i would notice when we met for lunch!
