greetings

wow he is so sick to do this to those poor animals. it is so good we have animal lovers here they will surely look out for the animals. it is really such a wonderful thing. pets are wonderful i wonder what he was thinking, it never stop me from thinking why people are so cruel to animal and one another they never stop . they say when a child is cruel and mean to an animal they are sick and mentally ill. i wonder how many here have done that or there child had dome this?
never thoguht of how his minds is working. this vick guy has been mean to animals for years so i am not surpised. i work at a school where there were many childern like this. my only advice on this is watch you child and see if she or he is cruel to animals and if they are get him or her to a doctor right away they could become the next vick or john gacy scary right. i hope they can do something for the animals. now what type of jail time will he get or will he?

Has anyone hear of dog "bunchers"?

They treat dogs worse than vermin.Zero creature comforts,no water, no room to move,little/no air.no light, kept in very hot conditions, like metal containers baking in the sun, etc.
The bunchers gather dogs for class b dealers, who then sell them to laboratorys and research facilities.

The bunchers will answer "to a good home" adds, shelter adds, grab strays, even steal dogs.

Goodell has finally spoken, albeit not what I would like. It's a start and hopefully harsher things to come.

"FOXSports.com has learned that commissioner Roger Goodell has ordered Vick not to attend Falcons training camp as his first step in determining Vick's future in the league. That would give the league office more time to assess the facts and judge additional facts that may come to light in the next month."

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7052768

Maybe Goodell is getting a taste of how things will be if he doesn't act. The public pressure is mounting.

KatyLied -> RE: michael vick indicted (7/23/2007 5:07:32 PM)

He doesn't belong in training camp, talk about a distraction.  And if it's open to the public at times, like the Steelers (who encourage families to go), what a mess with fans protesting.

On a related note, Steelers training camp started today.  Lots of changes and harder work than they are used to.  And Tomlin said, in reference to Big Ben: "I am very pleased with where he is and how he has taken to the changes around here. He has behaved like a franchise quarterback."

maybemaybenot -> RE: michael vick indicted (7/23/2007 5:37:13 PM)

It had to happen. I heard on Sports radio today that the Owner, Blank, was recieving Vick Jerseys being mailed back to him with nasty notes from disgruntled fans. And that < some> fans were selling off their season tickets and boycotting buying any NFL gear. The protesters have vowed to picket training camp and are doing it, I have seen at least 4 different petitions. Two with over 120,000 sigs. And let's not forget corporate sponsers. Altho nothing public, I am sure they have been sending a message to the NFL.

I also heard the Steelers signed Troy P. to a pretty good deal.

And everyone wanted to crucify the 3 Duke Boys

While it doesn't look good for Vick he is still innocent until PROVEN guilty.

That said it would best for the NFL and the Falcons if Vick is at least put on paid suspension until this matter is decided in court.

maybemaybenot -> RE: michael vick indicted (7/23/2007 5:54:34 PM)

The difference between Mr. Vick and the Duke boys is multi faceted. There were no witnesses to ID the boys. The *victim* wrongly ID one boy who was at an ATM at the time she claimed to be raped, there was DNA, the  * victim's* story was an ever changing account of the non facts. And all the other dirty little secrets the DA's office covered up and or wouldn't disclose.

The Duke case was a travesty created by one man on a mission who knew he had no facts and had no case. Vicks case has witnesses, dead bodies, equipment, etc and facts. It will be up to a jury to decide if these witnesses, dead bodies and facts equate a guilty verdict, but the two cases are apples and oranges. No comparison.

Lordandmaster -> RE: michael vick indicted (7/23/2007 6:14:37 PM)

You know, we may well be getting the fed trifecta.  First Michael Vick in football.  Then that weasel referee in basketball.  (You all know about that, right?)  And if the rumors are true, Barry Bonds is going to get indicted as soon as he hits his record-breaking homer.

Looks like "2007" is going to be the answer to an immortal trivia question.  OK, so what's the question?  In what year were there federal indictments in all three major U.S. sports?

maybemaybenot -> RE: michael vick indicted (7/23/2007 6:28:49 PM)

I didn't know about Bonds being potentially indicted. Color me ignorant here, but for what ? I know there is a steroid use issue. I thought he never tested positive, because at the time they didn't have a test for his type of steroind, but he admitted unknowingly using it, thinking it was flaxseed oil.

Is that the basis of the potential Fed. charge?

Perjury, from what I hear, but who knows.  It's all rumor and innuendo at this point.

You`re talking about a court of law,not the court of public opinion.I don`t think there`s any doubt that this was happening on his property.

"While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the Personal Conduct Policy," Goodell said in a letter to the quarterback.

maybe the nfl will do what the falcons cant seem to do....

BossyLadyPamela -> RE: michael vick indicted (7/24/2007 2:40:08 PM)

Let me sound a bit crazy  here..  I totally think we need to be proven guilty before we are tarred and feathered....................  however one doesnt have the equipment around ones  home that he did ..most people would not even know what the torture equipment does...      he also has a long history of being involved with this horrible crime.. this was brewing for a few years and I am glad they handled it this way...  did not pounce..let vick hang himself.. oh I am glad..

OWNER 59-- here is where it gets crazy..  I could be in a van or car and perched with a rifle..  shoot the bunchers..  I think to kill too..  then let some of them go and follow them to the places that hold the dogs before the labs get them..  you and I know.. this horror is so not wanting to be discussed..  Our local news station did a rather lengthy report on it here.. it went away...  I tried to push it over and over...  they let the story dissappear...hmmmm wonder why?/ sponsers did not like being associated with this..

Friend, help me deal with them.. I could shoot them..  I am not sure if to kill, but to mame  oh yes.....!!!

I am so disturbed by dog fighting..however the bunchers are worse on some level. if possible..    not just the bunchers but the whole industry..  the taking of them.. the keep of them before they are given for  usually the rate is 50.00 per middle size dog.. adjusted per size...  then what the lab does..  help me.

so many people place the-----  "to a good home"..  ....  again I have to stay away from this post..it is too hurtful.--Owner59-- friend we could cry for hours then take a drink..then start crying all over again..  to hold your furry sweetie in my lap and just feel him...  ..  and ask over and over why... for him and me....

The NFL has a fiscal responsibility to their shareholders.

Allowing Michael Vick, innocent or guilty, will cause tremendous losses in revenue for a corporate entity.  Allowing this sort of activity would make the NFL liable and open to criminal and civil lawsuits from their shareholders.

Michael Vick can ultimately sue for lost wages, defamation of character, and might actually win.

But...

That does not mean the NFL has to let him play.

While it is a court of law which will decide whether he broke the law, it is the court of public opinion that will decide whether he can keep his job.
