In every field, every occupation...there is good and bad. While some cops do want to actually do the job they were hired and trained for, there are others that want to do as little as possible. But again...that can be said for any and all fields and occupations. Anyone who reads this knows someone that they work with that's lazy, looks for ways to get around having to do their job, and pretty much works hard at not working. Don't you?
I'm not in law enforcement, but I am pro police. I also carry and would not hesitate to protect Myself. I've been the victim of a crime involving guns. When I moved to the great state of Florida (Castle Doctrine) I got My carry permit ASAP and promised Myself  I'd never be in that kind of situation again. Of course, common sense comes into play. A bazooka on your hip won't help you if someone already has the drop on you.
I work with police officers everyday. In My daily routine I encounter...let's say...the lower end of society. I can tell everyone this...The types of people who are up to "no good" are not afraid of the police. They don't respect the law, the badge, nor the uniform. They're not afraid of the taser, or the gun for that matter. Where I work, from what I see daily, the only thing that keeps order is the fact that the police can take them to jail. THAT'S IT!  They just don't want to go to jail.
Society seems to be getting meaner and dumber. I don't know if it's just here in S.E. Florida, or if it's everywhere.
I got off on a bit of a rant Myself here but in closing I'll just say that I'll depend on the police to keep order, but if need be...I'll have no problem and I won't hesitate to protect Myself, My loved ones, and My property.
(Just for the record...Taurus 7 shot .357 revolver/ Colt Gov't model .45/ And My main carry piece:
H+K usp compact in 9mm. Hollow points in all.)

Our local news ran a story on basically this same topic tonight, Im gonna see if I cant find their website and get the specifics on the percentages they were spouting off. About numbers of cops killed and what percentage of cops killed were from being shot and other such stuff.
