Hmm, it really depends. Are they totally independant, about it, and have learned to compensate using the rest of their body and devices so they can get around without help and shit? Yes? Than I see no difference and it's fine with me. Do they need help being transferred from chair to bed and such, with dressing, possibly catheters and other medical issues? Yes? Than I have several new ways to care for someone I love, and that's fine with me. The important thing is their attitude. Sometimes a person put into a wheelchair, especially by an accident in adulthood, has a big sense of pride and won't accept help when they need it. This can cause a lot of problems and tension in relationships. But as long as the Dom was able to accept his condition and learn to deal with it, and not peeing all over the place because he won't let me help him or hire a nurse and he can't do it right, there wouldn't be an issue for me.
