It's all of the above.  I enjoy the pain, and I enjoy it puts me in my place.  It really turns me on pretty quick, even though Master has a mean backhand, I still try to take all he dishes out.
 
I don't think I would call it humiliating, it never has felt that way to me with him, or with any other partners I have had.

I would have to say it is the humiliation factor; it makes me feel very 'small'.  No, wait!  It's the physical action which makes me feel...overpowered!  No, it's the humiliation factor which makes me feel an utter loss of control.  Noooo...it's the physical action; knowing the care he takes not to break my jaw but uses enough strength to really make me focus.  No... uhhhhhhh...   Wait!   Ummmmm...    Okay, I just like it when he makes me cry.

i am not totally sure why i like to be slapped, but a couple of good firm slaps does something to me that give me a thrill. The few time Maam has slapped my face, it was for a good reason and the point was made but, at the same time it gave me a thrill.

For me its not humiliating, its more a reminder of place, and I also like that sting and then the warmth afterwards.  I find it much easier to take and process face slapping after a couple of orgasms, I have no idea why (even though I can and have certainly handled it fine without the orgasms).

i think for me it boils down to humbling nature of it. i don't feel humilated but i do feel like i've been 'checked" into place...i also like just the feeling of it too...mostly it happens during sex so that just adds to it....maybe it's a throw back from my childhood when my Mother would slap my mouth if i talked back....it's almost a lovingISH thing....parental or something.

For me it is only humiliating in certian situations i.e. in front of others when i've done something wrong, mainly I like it because it reminds me of my place and reminds me of Masters strength and the hold he has on me.

It used to have a humiliating feel to it, now it makes me feel vulnerable to him, which I love.  And the faster he bats his hands across my face the more I spin - sometimes it's one hand after another, over and over until I am catapulted into another plane.

Face-slapping makes me feel vulnerable and child-like in some way, ( though I was never slapped as a child). I would say the most immediate thought that comes to mind though is "shocking." Having my face slapped startles me, and is almost guaranteed to make me cry instantly. Even when I know it's coming, it's almost like my brain can't wrap itself around the reality of it. I cant say I like or dislike it, but it certainly puts me into a submissive mindset.

It's utterly humiliating... debasing... and both of those things really get deep inside of me, "take me down a notch," make me feel very small, and turn me on. It can also occasionally cause me to be frightened and fear is another turn on.

I have to agree with several of the other posts here.  I don't actually find being slapped in the face humiliating, but in addition to the physical pain there is an emotional shock to it, which for me, means the person slapping me is in controll and i am not.

I had it done once by a play partner not Master  before i met Master.  I did not expect it at all and it shocked me.  I looked at him and said if you ever do that again that is the last time we will see each other.  It made me realize it is something i really don;t like actually i hate it.  From reading the other posts i guess i am alone in this thought.

For me though, way more towards the mental humiliation though. I'm a huge humiliation fan...love it.

at first it was a hard limit:  bad childhood juju.  but, I decided to try and leave those feelings behind and that was actually quite easy.  I do enjoy the physical sensation, and the painslut in me wants to be able to dish out all that he can take.

but, the reality is, I've ended up with a sore jaw and tenderness for a few days, so we had to lay off that for awhile.  the last time he did slap me, it was a "stop whining" kinda thing.  I cried, for the first time since we have been together as a D/s couple, I mean really sobbed.  it was hot.  [:D]
