By no means. The definition of a paraphilia is that it negatively impacts your life. If you can drool over the pics of the new Blahnik's in this month's Vogue during your break and then put it down and go back to work, then it isn't a paraphilia. If you can't pay your rent because you buy every pair of high heels you see, then it is.

Personally, I'm another one who likes words to be used precisely. So I am interested in whether or not the op meant the words foot fetish in a clinical way or just to mean people who like it. Because answering the question will be entirely different depending on his meaning.

Whoa...I really did not get that winterlight was knocking foot fetishism. I know that many times, when I have experienced something new, I have brought it to these boards, as some of the people who's opinions I respect most are here. That is not to say that I don't get it, or that it squicked me, just that I have wanted to discuss it. Instead of assuming that winterlight isn't a twue submissive, let's take a moment to give her the benefit of our opinions, rather than being too quick to jump to conclusions.

Just my $.25 worth, (hey gas went up didn't it?)

I didn't know how cool feet were until I got my first massage. Yummy stuff, and it's something I do now for my husband (just a bottle of lotion and massaging as best an unskilled person knows how). It can take the edge off a hard day.

I don't find feet aesthetically appealing, but going by the raging market for pedicures, a lot of people do.

Greedy and prob.. If anyone is into BDSM and understands the most graphic of meanings of any submissive showing humility to his or her "D" it has to do with the act of bowing.. If you folks cant understand the most submissive act that even vanilla people can understand then you either are ignorant or plainly come from another world. this is an incorrect statement, it simply refers to what is considered arousal, sexual satisfaction and affection by specific activity or object (usually object or body part). It is not considered to be defined by a destrucive, negative or harmful nature.

Ok..i don't know how spiritual the OP is or even wants to be..but it seems to me that if Jesus Christ got on his knees to wash the feet of his apostles and Mary Magdalene washed Jesus's feet with her hair...well then what's not to like??

See, that post would have been much more useful than your earlier one, questioning a person's submissveness because they may or may not understand a particular fetish.

I think we, as members of a larger community and as people of some intelligence, should be willing to share our knowledge with others who ask for it. winterlight brought a geniune question to the board, and I for one am heartened by the responses that she recieved (for the most part.)

Hmmmmmmm, apart from all the Mary Magdalene and Jesus references, I wear high heels all day, so really enjoy a foot massage. It's the highlight of my day!! If it's done by someone who truly appreciates and loves feet, it's all the better. They don't get sick of it after a while and start whinging about their sore back/hands/knees.

MMmmmmmm!!! Its good to have someone supporting us and cheering us up.. All i hear is who gets whacked and what they would like there backsides to be done..
