Why can't you talk about his being an academic fraud?  If it is true or alleged then all one needs to do is submit evidence and let the chips fall where they may.

Your meaning escapes me here buddy.  Are they trash because they are on welfare or because they are a minority?  Are  they are simply trash and ethnicity and economic status are just not relevant?

      I guess Chavez will expect to be denied entry to the US because of what he said at the UN last time.  Or am I setting my hopes a bit high?
Well Rich you have never been terribly receptive to criticism so I do not see this as an exception.

Do any of you remember the tempest in a teapot the halfwit neocons stirred up over European pols saying negative things about the administration while they were in Europe no less? Remember 'freedom fries' and all the rest of that stupidity? Is anyone really going to try and claim that crap wasn't a trial balloon to see if such a law would fly with the US citizenry?

I'm no huge fan of Chavez but this is no worse than the 'no true scotsman' attacks on the patriotism of US citizens who oppose Bush.

      Trash comes in all colors, creeds and ethnicities.  Welfare, particularly in the form of subsidized housing, is having a major impact on my little city.  Like Churchill with his cries of censorship, or oil down in Chavezistan, if we talk about drug dealers riding bicycles around and around residential intersections or shopping carts dumped in the streets, we are either rascists or "not really *****."

Rich, you've touched upon perhaps the prime reason for my dislike of that part of Leftism; the hypocrisy and blind, ignorance. Now, we're all human, so we all make mistakes, but those lefties bray like jackasses about how it's always someone else, ie the right, that are fools and heartless and idiots, while ignoring their own foolishness, heartlessness, and idiocy.

BFD. If The People of Venezuela have any issues with Chavez, IT IS THEIR PROBLEM.

Status: offline 		Can't tell if you're joking or if you're serious.  We don't YET deport legal aliens for criticizing the government.  It takes a little more than that.  Of course, when the time comes, I'll agree that we're in no position to look down on Chavez.

We're permitted to have opinions on Venezuelan politics just as foreigners are permitted to have opinions on American politics.  What "folks" do in Venezuela may not be our business, but nascent dictators aren't to be condoned.  Chavez isn't "the folks."  The "folks" in Venezuela are divided over their president, and most of them don't favor his latest maneuvers.

Oh right....bushies don`t respect elections or the democratic process,unless it`s fixed and they win...I forgot that.

Sense then,the bushies have been doing a hatchet job on Chavez, using him as a red herring,whipping boy,and straw-man,to try to scare ya`ll.Chavez is no dictator.Besides,republicans love dictators,real ones.As long as those dictators play ball with them,they couldn`t give a damm.
