BeautysBeast -> Music to scene by (7/29/2007 2:31:50 PM)

A couple months ago my Mistress was in town and we were to play in my home so i sought about setting the mood by setting out Her toys and Her effects, and choosing the music to which i would be beaten, flogged, figged, etc.  What i found was, some music fits perfectly, while other music makes you go.. "um.. this is not setting the mood at all!"

The 300 Soundtrack along with some other Celtic CDs seem to work well with some of the tracks, but i informed my Mistress that i would ask the Community at large... what do You use to set the scene? what do You suggest? i will then take the best suggestions and make a few CDs for us to use at our next private scene or party/

Do you use specific songs from various CDs? entire CDs? please let this boy know

*bows appreciatively*

I am sure this thread has been visited a lot and I am sure links to it are coming soon.  It used to be a time that songs had to be new age to "scene" to, but scening is such a broad term now as far as types of play that there could be so many genres.

When I first came out, you HAD to have the Enigma discography well then they only had their debut then in the mid 90s Pure Moods hit the TV screens and it was part of your toy bag, to some it still is (I can't stand it anymore, LOL).

Music depends on my mood, I can fist to Minnie Ripperton music, beat to Mickey Hart and Planet Drum, f*ck to Atlanta Crunk/Miami Booty Shake, cut to the Soundtrack of the Omen, saran wrap to "Dueling Banjos" from Deliverance, and not need any music to do vagina torture too.  But the best background music is for the potential partner as you get to know her, Luther Vandross still does the trick for that, and errr the Carpenters and Air Supply.

Yeah I said it, Air Supply.

oh a side note, I always wanted to play to Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back but I'd get too caught up in the music not the scene.

Better yet, the BEST music is grunts, moans, and screams and passion and pain.

That'll about do it!

An ex Master of mine use to play Green Day's American Idiot cd while playing with me. Sometimes he would tie me up blindfold me and gag me then turn on the music and loud. I would sit in the position he set me in and and wonder what was going to happen. Sometimes it would take a while maybe 5 minutes then i'd feel the sting of the cane or the feel of the flogger and then it would go and out of nowhere it would come again. Music is great during play and for me especially during sensory deprevation. Whenever I hear that cd I can recal the feelings I had when he was playing with me. Great times.

Damocles809 -> RE: Music to scene by (7/29/2007 2:46:35 PM)

Massive Attack is a pretty good for atmosphere.  I  recommend the tracks Antistar and Angel.

A lot of movie soundtracks are good too, since most of the tracks will have no lyrics.

Urcreatrix -> RE: Music to scene by (7/29/2007 3:04:04 PM)

YMMV, of course, but I make a playlist depending on my plans for the evening. I go with instumentals or music with lyrics in a foreign language. Something slow and sensual for sensory play and aftercare, like Debussy, Chopin, or Mendelssohn. For more intense scenes, I like something with a driving beat: Drums of Tokyo, Drumline Soundtrack, most of the soundtrack from the second Pirates of the Carribean movie, Shakira is always good. I will occasionally use cheesy songs with English lyrics if I am feeling playful, usually whatever was popular with me in college, which was pretty much everything.

just in case you don't go through all the links, one not to miss is Butt Boy Music ( http://www.buttboymusic.com ) with descriptions like...written for flogging, whipping and beating or written for cock sucking and worship...and their site has samples of their no lyrics - instrumental music composed specifically for sceneing...plus the composer is really cool...sat down to dinner with him once and laughed through the entire meal....

my favorites to scene by are anything heavy with a good beat like Rammstein and Type O Negative....also my favorites to fuck by...hehe

~fast reply~

there's music channels on the cable box....so its chosen as to what mood he's in that day.  generally soundscapes, kind of new-agey soft stuff.

kitten, who is tired...

BeautysBeast -> RE: Music to scene by (7/29/2007 5:37:18 PM)

Most of the play we do in which this would come into play would be flogging, padels,  and canning... but all of these are fantastic examples and i thank you all so much for your participation here.  I have heard of Buttboy and my Mistress and i have one of their CDs already but it was tasked to me to compile my own CD's... still, thank you for all for these suggestions!!

LaMspeach -> RE: Music to scene by (7/29/2007 7:40:19 PM)

Just turn on the weather channel. That way you dont  have to worry about the CD ending  just as you are about  to scream "OH...... "  * laughs*  you get the picture.

LOL Master sometimes turns the TV wayyyy up when I'm getting loud, usually to some cheesey movie where some chick is screaming anyway.  Sometimes I don't know if my screams are from his torment or from the torment of listening to whatever damn movie is on....

Kitten has a 80 gig IPOD on shuffle. We have never gotten to the "Oh yes oh... damn, the musics done."

Joseff -> RE: Music to scene by (7/29/2007 8:19:04 PM)

Enough with Butt Boy already. I don't care that much for techno anyway. I also have no sense of rhythm, so I can't flog to music anyway. I prefer music that sets a mood, and I have a preference for blues.

Greetings

Metallica's entire S&M album is awesome to scene to.

Well wishes

MasterMike04103 -> RE: Music to scene by (7/30/2007 12:33:47 AM)

I as well use an MP3 Player for a source of scene music, the one I keep in my flogger bag has the following...

Metallica, The Black Album
AC DC Greatest Hits,
Type O Negitive's Bloody Kisses CD (great flogging/fucking music during a storm)
Korn
Nine Inch Nails  Downward Spiral CD
Drowning pool
Disturbed
Kid Rock (before he got soft)
Limp Biskit
and last but not least.... GodSmack

All these groups have great music that can be smithed into a scene, it all depends on your partner, what the Top needs for music to get into their Top Space, AND what music is needed to help the bottom get into "sub space"

As distrurbing as it is... I know a person who likes to be caned to Sinatra... Now for the love of leather, I don't know why or how one could do a thing but to each their own...

hope I have helped

Mike

ThunderRoad -> RE: Music to scene by (7/30/2007 1:29:50 PM)

I still use Enigma's first album.  It is like a 60-minute version of musical sex.

Valyraen usually plays some sort of rock. Or the Simpsons.

That's right. I get flogged to the Simpsons.

mine too!  Being flogged listening to Rammstein's Sehnsucht, or fucked to Type O Negative anything is amazing.
Woot.
Also, Breaking Benjamin is always good for me, and so is Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring

nmjardine -> RE: Music to scene by (7/30/2007 6:54:28 PM)

Dungeon music and Buttboy's stuff annoys me. I'd rather play to jazz as that's what makes me feel sexy. But I'm usually stuck with what the Dom prefers and none of my partners seem to like jazz.

bipolarber -> RE: Music to scene by (7/30/2007 7:13:46 PM)

Okay, I'm going to say this, even if it's not going to be popular... but if I hear Enigma one more fucking time at a play party, I'm gonna puke my guts out! Not that there's anything wrong with it, per se... but man, 15 years of hearing the same damn albums over and over while playing... it's become Ludiviko Treatment to me. (Clockwork Orange reference)

When I'm in a contemplative mood, or in a slow, sensual scene: the "Encounter" CD by Michael Stearns.

When I'm in a more percussive, impact-oriented mood: any of the albums by "Eat Static."

Again, if you really want to build up a GREAT library of scene music, start listening to, and recording Music From the Hearts of Space on NPR. God, I have discovered so many obscure artists via that radio show that it's not even funny. (My wallet usually gets drained during the fall season, when they theme their shows to a darker, more "goth" mood to go with the darkening season, Halloween, and early winter.)
