I saw lipstick questions, and wonder if anyone has experience with a mascara that will not smear under blindfolds.

Try waterproof, it doesnt smear as bad as regular mascara. I always end up looking like a raccoon no matter what, just not as bad. I call if my "just been fucked look".

Yeah the waterproof ones are good. The maybelline and Rimmel ones I have had the best luck with.

Try a different blindfold. I discovered a version that does not touch the eyes and is still a great blocking out any light. It was handed out during a long flight. It's comfortable and it puts no pressure on the eyes. There are foam cut-outs that go around the eye socket without touching it or the surrounding area. beth loves it. It doesn't slip and doesn't hurt her eyes if she happens to open them.

They are easy to find at any travel store in the mall. Here's a link to see what they look like. http://www.naturestapestry.com/mindfold.html

mercnbeth takes the cake here...great idea

smears are par for the course - I'd request no one else wears the blindfold (infection control) and keep makeup wipes in my bag. Only takes a sec to dab them before facing the world.

Nuthin a li'l spit and my doms thumb can't handle.

I use the maybelline waterproof mascara without too many smudges, but I take along makeup remover with me and some cotton balls to clean up with if any smears still happen.

I have found that mascara and blindfolds just don't mix, for me at least.

No matter the brand or formula - from Cover Girl to Chanel - the heat, tears, perspiration - will smugde and burn my eyes.  Puffy eyes aren't sexy. Raccoon eyes are open to interpretation.

Good thing I can get away without makeup.

Yes, I do. (All waterproof, naturally.) Revlon Fabulash will flake, but it takes a lot to get it to smear. It clumps badly once wet, though, so don't cry in it or use eye drops. L'oreal Luxurious Lengths will not smear, even with a bit of crying, although the tradeoff there is that it's a natural-looking mascara--you'll get pretty, defined, darker, slightly longer lashes, but you don't get much volume.

I've heard wonderful things about Diorshow and Lancome Defincils, but I don't use either.

If, however, you *want* smearing, Maybelline Great Lash non-waterproof Blackest Black will do it. So will Voluminous by L'oreal.

Max Factor 2000Calorie Mascara is smudge proof and touch proof. I rarely go to sleep with my make up on, but the few times I have and have been wearing this mascara it hasn't smudged, and I am a belly sleeper. So my face is squished in the pillow.

I have to third the Mindfold blindfold. I sleep with a blindfold on nightly cause I am a very light sleeper and wake up the second the sun rises if I don't and the Mindfold one rocks!

Hands down, Mary Kay waterproof.  I have tried everything from Avon to Revlon, even a few high end ones when I could afford it - and nothing ever came close.  Every other waterproof mascara smudged during a nap or a tear... it was just harder to get off!    The MK has lasted through funerals, pools, and sleep.  Highly recommend it! (their regular one is great too!)  And no, I don't sell MK and never will.

PS
I have sensitive eyes also, especially when it comes to cleansers, and MK's eye-makeup remover is the best ever.

Try the Maybelline clear mascara. I love wearing it. It gives my lashes a full but natural look without all the gloop. Plus its clear so if it smears, no one notices anyway!

If I worried about what mascara to wear with a blindfold then vanity would be playing too big a part in my life.

I never understood the point of make up. Well, when I was 16 and 17 I put it on cause the girls in my house did and I wanted to fit in, To me it feels like I am doing something to make myself look like someone, or something I am not, a false representation if you will, so I do not bother with it, except for lipstick and eyeshadow as a treat.
