This coming from the person who harps on the same spelling mistake in multiple posts? Priceless. You calling someone petty is like David Duke calling someone a racist.

The use of two hyphens is incorrect when you have the ability to use the proper punctuation. Laziness does not excuse the error.

Here's a couple of helpful points:

Perhaps you found this helpful; i know Lam already knew it.

I fail to see the connection between anything said by Lam about Lance Armstrong and the principle of logical debate you used.

I didn't make a single "definitive claim." I said I BELIEVE HE CHEATED. Do you read?

The question you should be asking is can't you even remember what you wrote? In this post (last edited on 7/5/2005 at 10:50:27 AM) you said "I am convinced that he has cheated."

At any rate, it's another nice selective reply on your part. I take it you're not going to dazzle us with your knowledge of the WADA and USDADA testing procedures and how easy it is to dupe them? After all, why should anyone expect you back up any of the claims you make?

i cannot speak to the doping of humans for performance enhancement, but i represented the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering in Florida for a time. The means and methods of doping horses and greyhounds far outstripped our lab's ability to detect foreign substances in the animals. Cases were generally won on the basis of eyewitness testimony by undercover police officers who witnessed the administration of a substance prior to the race.

Those of you interested in animal rights would be aghast as the means used to deliver foreign substances to animals. In one memorable case, a trainer and vet used a tube and delivered baking soda into the horse's stomach, bypassing it's throat and other organs that dilute the effect. The horse was thus "energised" and no blood or urine tests revealed a foreign substance.

Actually i go to some pains to always provide the information i rely on from source material, together with the URL, so other people can judge for themselves as to the veracity of any fact i relied upon.

i cannot see where you have ever done this.

i am also confused by your insult...i don't remember ever seeing your nick here before. i have over 300 posts and i cannot imagine anyone reading all of them just to form an opinion about my research, etc.

It truely does seem your attack is motivated by my drawing different conclusions than you did about subjects you posted on. *Sigh*. If you wished to address proper english grammar, i would have understood....but a personal attack makes it seem you merely cannot abide anyone else disagreeing with you.

Since you "don't remember ever seeing 'my' nick here before," how can you make any claims about my previous posts? Try to maintain even the tiniest shred of consistency in your rants please.

You probably don't even remember that I was the person who told explained to you the ignore feature in Yahoo messenger. What was that, two whole days ago? What was it you said, something like "O THANK GAWD. i am in your debt, sfgrrl." You can't even remember that? Mind like a steel trap you've got there. Forgive me if your memory isn't all that high on the list of sources I'll trust for reference material.

You seem to have as strong a grasp of my feelings as you do of in-person BDSM relationships. Feel free to stick to subjects you have a little more familiarity with like chat rooms and on-line "stalkers".

Yes, this is the second time you've posted that link, it must be a personal favorite. When I need you to explain something to me, rest assured, I'll ask. But don't hold your breath, I doubt there's much of anything that I need your help understanding.

You are the quintessential Slinky®. I'm done with you here.

I'm not sure what prompted the insult, but you're welcome to email me. i'd rather you kept personal problems you are having with me off the boards. I do appreciate your help as per my YIM, so let me thank you again. i should have remembered your nick; but until this thread, i don't think you were having a problem with me -- at least not one you communicated to me. This is why it seems that you're upset because i disagreed with you. Again, i apologse for forgetting your nick.

pinkpleasures

p.s. Since i do not want to discuss my private life here, i think you jumped to some wild conclusions about me that you cannot possibly know about. You know -- "walk a mile in my shoes" -- that would change your perspective, but at the moment you are not someone i wish to confide in.

Memory is not "reference material" in the main. Unless something is universally acccepted -- ssuch as the sun rises in the east -- it is always best to go do the research and then provide your sources, so others can follow your research and evaluate the veracity of what was said.

BTW, i realised people were, in the main, annoyed by my thread OP on preventing abuse. So i referenced a good book on the subject and hung it up; it's not worth the aggravation to try to warn people.

1 -- i suggested reasons why tests administered to humans may not be detectable by modern lab methods, extrapolating from my experience with pari-mutuel doping cases. i assure you, Florida takes a serious interest in protecting the integrity of the racing industry there; it is a sizable revenue stream for the government.

2 -- i have asked you to email me and begin a convo on why you're so angry. You have chosen to continue flaming on the boards, and i simply do not understand.

Very curious how this test has been in use since 2001; Armstrong hasn't tested positive and yet his performance has stayed about the same. Also odd is that other experts in the field such as the one in this link don't even believe tests on such old samples can be done.

quote:

But I know, I'm crazy.

Ok, I'll take your word for that then; I just thought you must be French. Their journalists have been making unsubstantiated claims like yours for years. Among other things they claimed that the riders were using undetectable drugs and the proof was that none had been detected! Further proof that Armstrong was a cheat came when he did test postive for cortisone; however the trace amounts detected were insignificant compared to the threshhold for punishment and were easily explained by absorbtion of a cream used to treat saddle sores. No matter that it was a trivial finding -- it still resulted in much glee and jumping for joy among the "gotcha" crowd of French journalists.

So this latest collaboration of French journalists with French scientists does little to stir confidence in the conclusions . . . except, of course, among the gotcha gang who have been looking for years for any straw to grasp onto.

Correction: The director of the Tour de France isn't troubled. That was yesterday's news. Today he's CONVINCED.

http://www.comcast.net/sports/index.jsp?cat=SPORTS&fn=/2005/08/24/207077.html

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. And I really think all the aggressive comments about me need to be stuffed at this point.

Edited to add: You've also seriously mischaracterized the expert's opinion in the link you cited:

She didn't question whether tests on such old samples can be done. She was surprised that tests on such old samples could have revealed EPO.

i wonder why a Man who has time and again earned the trust of the P/pl here with reliable and oftimes obscure information which, as it turned out, was factual, could be flamed like Lam has been, simply for expressing opinions and stating facts.
