I will look through the "Who's Viewing Me" section on the other side from time to time just to see who is taking a peek. Often I see familiar names from the board, but once in a while there will be a name that is unfamiliar from Toronto, or San Fransisco or somewhere else compleatly on the oppisite side of the continent. Not that I am offended, if I were why would I post a profile, but why was I picked to be looked at? and what if a moderator shows up on the list? does that mean I have been naughty (well more so than normal)? just curious...

If you post on the boards, most of the time it's because you posted something and someone was curious who you were. Simple as that. Nothing more. Except when they view me. When they view me, the hot babes want littlesarbonn badly. But for everyone else, they're just curious who you are.

I think most of the people on my "Who's Viewing Me" list are people who are just browsing photos, and clicked to see the full profile (and possibly got a bad surprise).  Anyone with a picture posted probably gets a few of those.

some people do a picture search, some an s/m search, some a city search, etc...when you pop up in their search criteria, they view you, perhaps not knowing where you're located until they do view you; simple.

I agree with just about everyone.  I look at people if they've written something that strikes a chord with me, just to see more about them.  I also browse photos here and there.  The other reason is someone looked at me, I like to see who is looking.

Yup, as littlesarbonn wrote (accurately as ever) possibly people from far away have seen a thread to which you posted, clicked on your nickname on the thread, and opened your profile that way. Why? Probably to get more context--I know I've done it.

The thing that I find so stupid about it is that none of the ppl lurking my profile have any pics up themselves.

After all, I am from Toronto. We must like to look. LOL

I view people all the time...for no other reason than it seems like a good idea at the time...I can't pick any reason other than "why not".  So here we go *S*

Oh I absolutely HATE that.... or if they email me and don't include a pic.. after all, I have one.  If they seriously want to communicate with me, they should at least offer a glimpse of themselves.

i will look at just about anyone and everyone out of curiosity. If i like their pic or profile and wanting to know a little more, than yes i will look at their full profile. Also out of boredom sometimes and want to see who's out there

Phin I asked the same question and basically got the same answers as you just got. I have to admit that some people's responses put a smile on my face so I go take a look at them.

I love reading profiles and looking at pictures. I'll see someone say something in forums and I will check them out. I will browse pictures and see one that catches my eye ... be it someone attractive, a cool shot,  or something else, I will check them out. If a guy looks at me, I look back. Hey, aren't we on here to explore and look around.

I'd encourage one not to think into this too much.  People check profiles for a variety of reasons.

For me, the number one reason I check profiles is to figure out how old the person I'm talking to.  Gender and D/s orientation are often a consideration.  (I often end up checking the same person many times over the course of a thread if they're an active participant, as my memory is certainly short.)

I wonder what some other common reasons might be?

I check out the full profile of chicks with pretty pictures so that I can see them full-size.
