So *REALISTICALY*, we can be back in less than a month. Everyone can be back BEFORE LABOR DAY...

How do we get the equipment home?

FedEx?

BTW, love your use of the FedEx color pallete.

Kerry had to appeal to all the fucking idiots who still can't see how stupid this fucking war was.

As for the equipment, we are leaving it for the same reason we invaded.  Guess who gets to pay for it and guess who makes the money...

Bush has used this nation as a giant ATM machine for him and his corporate friends.

Leave it as our contribution to Iraq's continued security. They can't complain then about not being adequately equipped.

Well, everybody in the armored corp is provided with plenty of grenades or things which burn hot enough to burn metal.  This is done because our military does not enjoy leaving assets for the enemy to use against us.  I am sure they would simply throw one in to everything we leave over there and turn it all into burning cinders.

As a welder friend pointed out, get anything hot enough and it will burn.

I suspect in the end, we will pay haliburton to scrap it for us (they may resell it)

HELL!!!! THEY ARE HEADQUARTERED IN THE AREA, how convenient, and Dick has a job when he gets done shooting lawyers for the administration.

We doubt we will be leaving the M1A2's and the Stryker combat APC's. They are pretty new and cost a fortune. It will take fifteen to eighteen months to reasonably get out of Iraq, which is why we should start today. What could happen quickly, is a withdrawl to the south. This could be done very quickly, and we would get a look at what post-occupation Iraq would look like.

mnottertail -> RE: Bad News From Iraq: We Might Be Winning (8/8/2007 2:09:14 PM)

If there were any warlords in the american army of any mein,  we could just as easily withdraw to kurdish territory, leave thru turkey, as we watch events unfold. Protect the kurds, and pour right back in if need be. Although it would take the mother of all wars and shock and awe to need be.

If you could get the Turkish government to go along with that, it would be a good idea I think...

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: Bad News From Iraq: We Might Be Winning (8/8/2007 4:02:29 PM)

um that would be a bad idea give them the m1a1 not the a2 i am a ex tanker i can tell you that would be really stupid on our part

farglebargle -> RE: Bad News From Iraq: We Might Be Winning (8/8/2007 4:09:38 PM)

Whatever. Hell, if it's a hassle, then pack up everything that's not man-portable and bring it home.

( Didn't we just "misplace" 150,000 AK47s? )

well they will want some money, but they are going to be in a hell of a position to say no, since they are a NATO signatory.  That is how we went in for air strikes, we had to give them a wad of money but I think we still have bases there.
