BIllCT -> Home Run Kings? Toss Bond's Records! (8/5/2007 3:33:25 AM)

I Don't know about anyone else but for me, The Home Run King is and will always:
Henry " Hammering Hank" Arron, period.

NO Steroids needed by him and you can watch the footage of his hitting em all and see, he did not use any drugs of any kind and he was a natural!

Barry Bonds the Steroid Home Run King deserves to be thrown out of the Hall of Fame running, and out of the record books, once they prove he took steroids of any kind, The Home Run Record should belong to a player who did it naturally not drug or steroid enchanced, period.
And I believe that should alwso account for the single season home run records too of Barry Bonds, Mark Maguire and Sammy Sosa too, if you can't hit em doing so naturally with your own skills and strength, it's not a real record, period.

Steroids are illegal, because of the potential dangers they pose to health.

A day will come, and we'll live to see it, when 'performance enhancement' drugs will be developed that are FDA approved.

Do you think that horses who are given steroids should be barred from competition?

not trying to be a dink, but what does this have to do with BDSM other than Bondage and Bonds both start with B?

Bill, you DO know this is in the wrong section of CM, don't you?

Briefly, I didn't notice this thread was misplaced.  I'm sure a moderator will move it though.

Stephan, they will; I was only pointing it out to the OP,  helpful sod that I am.

Maybe he secretly wants to tie Bonds up and spank him for his past transgressions. "Bad Barry, bad bad bad." "You naughty boy, you know you should not do those nasty roids!! Bad bad bad!"

Ahhhhhhh, there's the missing kink. Or maybe "needle play" is in the mix.....

Phin -> RE: Home Run Kings? Toss Bond's Records! (8/5/2007 6:30:18 AM)

Look at pics of him when he was a pirate, and look at him now. you cannot convince me that he is clean. no worries, A-rod has 500 and is still damn young. I hate the yankees but I would rather see him with the record than Bonds...

and to give my answer to Stephann, yes they should disallow horses using steriods.

LaTigresse -> RE: Home Run Kings? Toss Bond's Records! (8/5/2007 6:57:13 AM)

I have a question. Now bear in mind that my knowledge of baseball is far exceeded by most every other thing I know, even a little bit about. As is my interest. However, since I do not live alone, it has been on the television as of late. The guy that lives here used to live, eat, and breath the stuff, until age told him that the sliders hurt more and the running was not as fast (actually I believe he played softball but eh, bat ball.....pffftt) Anyway, I would ask him but as he is still sleeping and probably will be for hours (I think he just got in a few hours ago), soooo inquiring mind is curious.

How do we know that Hank didn't use any of this stuff? How do we know alot of past greats didn't? When was this stuff invented versus when they started testing for it? I am just curious...

Phin -> RE: Home Run Kings? Toss Bond's Records! (8/5/2007 7:02:14 AM)

true, we don't realy know for sure, but Hammerin' Hank never blew up like a balloon the way that Bonds did

LaTigresse -> RE: Home Run Kings? Toss Bond's Records! (8/5/2007 7:04:16 AM)

Ahhh, you see, this is why I ask questions. So just based upon physical body changes, the lack thereof,  it is just assumed that he (Hank) didn't?

feastie -> RE: Home Run Kings? Toss Bond's Records! (8/5/2007 7:10:25 AM)

Yup, I think this thread will be amovin'

I am an Astros fan, (although they STINK this year), but I do find that the Bonds record to be suspect.  But, unless MLB is going to require blanket testing before each and every game, I don't see how the record cannot be allowed to stand.

He was an excellent player Before Steroids (BS), but there is no way on earth I can respect a user the same way I can a natural.

Now, can I swear that Aaron never used steroids? No. But I believe he didn't.

I dunno, he looked bulkier in the second photo than the first but then the two photos don't really show his physique all that well either.

I was just told that Barry Bonds has one of the sweetest swings in all of baseball. It is unfortunate that the pressure put on athletes has led to any of them feeling the need for steroids at all. I wouldn't be surprised to find that some players were pressured by the powers that be in management. A bit of a "do it or else" kind of thing. I have a feeling that to only place blame on the athletes is naive.

Level -> RE: Home Run Kings? Toss Bond's Records! (8/5/2007 8:10:30 AM)

LT, Bonds has always been a fantastic player, even when he was skinny.

And sadly, sports is littered with those that threw away their health due to management "pressure", but ultimately, they made the choice.
