Status: offline 		I think I just had my first paranormal experience. I visited a historical cemetery in Avondale yesterday.  It's a place I've been driving by for years and finally my hubby and I decided to visit, being I have an interest in ghost hunting.
 
I was riding in my power chair and from the onset was hitting blocks.  I was able to get into the cemetery.  I drove along the pathway and looked at the tombstones.  Most were so old that they were nothing more pitted cement slabs.  On the way out, my husband asked me if I "felt" any thing.  I told him no.  If anything, I felt that they were "long gone"   giving me a feeling that the place was "dead..not just dead but DEAD dead".
 
Then we turned to go back to the van.  I  had gotten off the path into the dirt to ride up onto the main pathway and couldn't.  I had hit a pile of and and was spinning out.  Hubby pushed me out just to have me fall into another same situation.  We finally made it back to the van.  Funny thing, the ramp deployment was working fine when we arrived, but malfunctioned upon trying to reload me.  We got it working by resetting the electronics. I'm starting to think that going ghost hunting while I need to rely on electrical equipment for mobility, is not such a good idea.  I wonder if there is a way to block electric power alteration or draining from the ghosties (other than asking them NOT to)?
 
I thought that graveyard was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too "quiet".

Status: offline 		When I was in England, I was staying in the little town of Thirsk, at a 16th century inn called The Golden Fleece. My room had a plaque next to the door announcing that it was "The Dick Turpin Room." It was late and I was tired so I figured explanations could wait until the morning. I went in, undressed, killed the lights and got into the bed. Just one more night in one more old hotel, right?

I was awakened by the sound of someone walking about my room! It had gotten cold in the room, which is not unusual for that part of England. I could see the room clearly. The light coming through the thin windowshades cast everything in a silvery-grey but it was enough to determine that I was, in fact alone in the room. I decided, after a few minutes of listening to what sounded like pacing in heavy boots, that it must be someone in the room above me. I considered things a moment and decided to go up there. However, given my fatigue and the rather maze-like construction of the 16th inn, that proved far easier to decide than accomplish so I went back to my room. The sound had stopped and so I returned to bed.

The next day, I went into the office and complained. The manager listened to my tale with an odd expression on his face. When I was done, he sighed, nodded, and told me that there was no room above mine and that many people hear Turpin pace through the room in the wee hours of the morning. He told me that Turpin was an 18th century highwayman and that the room I was in was the one he always stayed in. He also told me that Turpin was hanged for his crimes in the square just below the window to the room.

True story.

Status: offline 		When I was first married, we lived in an apartment building that had been built in 1923. It had, as you might imagine, very old bones. Well, there were two incidents in that place--nothing scary--that are noteworthy.

The first happened when my now-ex and I were playing and videotaping it. Now, as the evening progressed and I put her through her submissive paces, the lighting didn't change. In fact, the only time a candle was moved was to apply hot wax to her tender areas. It was a good evening for both of us and then, after a hot bath and some wine, we settled in to watch the video.

Imagine our bewilderment at seeing at least fifteen glowing orbs--which had not been visible to the naked eye--moving freely around and above us as we played! What is more, the antique katana that I kept (and still keep)  by the bed  was a real focal point for these orbs!  Now I knew that one of the photographic manifestations of spirit activity is a floating orb. Kind of makes you wonder who's watching when you are getting down with someone!

The second incident happened after the birth of our first son. He was in his crib napping and we were in the other room. I forget what we were doing, but the point is that whatever it was we stopped when we heard a soft, female voice singing in the bedroom. We walked in, thinking that perhaps we had left a TV on. The singing stopped, no TV was on and the baby was wide awake, smiling a wide toothless smile and giggling!

OK cuddleheart, if you're good I'll tell you one that's really scary!

Once again I feel I must apologise for this incident the night vision equipment I was using obviously had some effect on your video equipment that I hadn’t considered. Infrared lights do appear on recordings but are not visible to the human eye.

There is a cemetary in Chicago and no, I am not going to tell you which one. Let us just say that it is one of the older ones and has a great many standing mausoleums. There is a folk tale, an urban myth if you will, that says that one of these is haunted by a frightening spector that has been seen and has even attacked people!

I think you know where this is going...

Night falls, the place is all locked up and there I am with my camera and journal, climbing the fence and making my way through the graves to the haunted mausoleum. I had asked several friends to go with me but miraculously they all had something else to do that night. The most creative excuse was, "I have to polish my collar spikes or my Mistress will beat me!" I had to walk away from that one. After all, isn't that why he paid her in the first place? So what do I do when my friends bail on me? I go anyway.

Well, I find the tomb alright and set up right opposite the entrance and wait. I cannot have a light because that would attract attention so I sit in the dark and wonder if I am mad or simply too inquisative for my own good. After a couple of hours of this I stand and stretch my legs, deciding that I am too inquisative and wishing it was madness. Making sure there is no security around--there isn't--I take a stroll over to the tomb.

The next thing I know, I am not alone, something is very close. I turn and see something with yellowish-green eyes. It hits me, tears my shirt, leaves scratches on my chest and stomach and vanishes again!

I recover from the attack, go get my camera and then go looking for the damned thing! I never found it but I always had the sense that it was close. After another hour, I gave it up and went home to take care of the wounds. I wasn't bothered so much by the scratches, it was trying to explain to an ER doctor what had given them to me that made me nervous. Happily the wounds were superficial enough that I could care for them myself.

Damn! That was a $75 shirt!

Status: offline 		LotusSong, yes electrical things are easily affected. i do not know any way around it. Could your husband perhaps push you in an non-electric chair?
