Ok, DarkWriter's story doesn't surprise me at all. However, i grew up with the "Bell witch" ... That is a family story passed down from generation to generation. The movie "An American Haunting" is based on my family and their story of the Spirt/demon/poltergeist, whatever it was, consistantly reeking havoc upon their home. It's funny that one mentioned critters attacking. When the bell witch first approached John, it was in the form of an "owl like creature"... then something like a wolf, before it manifested itself inside their home. Kate, as she is commonly called to this day by our family, had a hate for the daughter of the home and would cause her bodily harm on a regular basis. This is just a teaser in the story of the Bell witch. If you don't know the story, then you should google it and do your own research and come up with your own theories.
As for feeling or seeing the presence of those passed that were close to me, yes, yes, yes. My grandfather and i were very close. He was my hero. No doubt about that, and to this day i firmly believe he was the best man to ever lived. With that being said, He passed away when i was only 15. One of the many stories i could tell about Him coming to visit me, is this. When He was diagnosed with luekemia on April fools day, the doctor sent him straight away to Vanderbilt in Nashville. He was a very healthy man up to this point, never being sick. When he got sick, the dr said " we can beat this, but you have to undergo an intense chemo session of 24/7 for seven days. Well, this proved deathly to Him. The night he died, we had all spent the day at the hospital. He was in a como like state, and couldn't communicate at all, but when we would read to Him, his bloodpressure would stay up. This was a hopeful sign to us.. UNTIL, the dr's sent us away to get rest. It was 11:23 at night on April 23rd. I had fallen asleep sometime before that, and woke up at exactly this time feeling like i couldn't breathe. I took what i know was Granddaddy's last breath. My mother was in the bed next to me, and she did the same, as we woke up at the same time. I looked at her and said " Momma, Grandaddy's gone" .. the phone rang, and it was the hospital. it was true.
For years after that, every April 23rd at 11:23pm , my alarm clock would go off. Especially if i was to wrapped up in my own world to remember what day it was.
As i said, this is one of the NUMEROUS stories i could tell about my grandaddy... who was full of life, even in death.
