imtempting -> Does it annoy people? (7/2/2005 9:20:34 AM)

Im just wandering to the Dominants ( although it can probabley be an open question) out there does it annoy you when the question says for example:

"To the other Dominants do you let your sub open door's??"

Does it annoy you when Submissive people answer in the thread??

I've seen it done heaps and was just curious?

Sometimes and I might off thought about answering as I have an opinion and I tend to think i keep an open mind on many things aswell as other people.

I made a spelling mistake oops.

All opinions are welcome, if they want a private personal opinion they should ask privately, and not post it in a public venue. in the words of Maggie Kuhn " Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes"

Good question. i wonder this myself and i refrain from posting in Masters/Mistress' areas because i do not want to offend anyone. Well and also because i'm comfy with ask a slave/submissive.
i'm very opinionated and have lotsssssssssss of questions. i love hearing what others have to say.

oh and if i may answer (since you through an example question out there, i'll answer it)(hehe) Master always opens my door in public. Thats the vanilla side of her and i don't think she'd have it anyother way. In public i'm treated like a lady, and in the house i'm treated like a sluty slave. LMAO!!

o gee; i had no idea we had to qualify to post on threads in "Ask a Master". Seems to me there are entire threads without any input from Doms or Masters...but maybe i'm just not paying enough attention.

Wants to know who slavedesires thought was the Hottie???

Communication is Always good and its even better when one hears from those who might otherwise be silent.

zaynab -> RE: Does it annoy people? (7/2/2005 11:31:05 AM)

GentleDom3 -> RE: Does it annoy people? (7/2/2005 11:35:17 AM)

Well Imtempting no it doesn't bother me at all, an any submissive i would want to take or be with would have her own opinions as well. I take great pride from the fact that someONE submitted to me, it has no value if their are no thoughts an opinions to come with the body :). Course thats me so again no it doesnt bother me at all as i value all opinions dom or sub, master or slave there is value in them all if you can get outside the labels an such too see them.

I insist that they do. It's proper gentleman behaviour in my opinion.

ScooterTrash -> RE: Does it annoy people? (7/2/2005 7:38:51 PM)

I don't care if I'm in the middle of 10 female subbies, I WILL be the one who opens the door in most cases, solely because I am male (or maybe a gentleman but don't tell, you'll ruin my rep). I don't know if it's a case of chivalry not being dead, or some throwback to society thinking, but I still feel a female submissive, not matter how submissive they are..are still ladies. I also open doors for Dommes as well (winks at Shifted). Now in cases where I have been in mixed company and a male sub is involved, I am courteous enough to back off and let them open the doors however...I think not doing so is stealing something from them.

As for who answers in posts..I have actually thought about that and have come to the conclusion that if they have something valuable to add to the conversation, then they should answer. I have cringed a little when I have seen a post by someone "not in that category" chime in with useless info (I know that's an opinion, but I AM a little opinionated..lol). I try myself to refrain from adding to posts in the "ask a sub" or "ask a Mistress"..but that's just me and I can't say that I have held to that in all cases. I think in some cases there is no category that actually fits so the OP is saddled with the task of deciding where to post it, and I think all inputs with substance are appreciated. Actually if I put a question out there and someone really knows the answer..I don't care who or what they are if they are willing to give up that information.

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: Does it annoy people? (7/2/2005 7:50:30 PM)

I accept sexist courtesy graces because of the intent behind them- to be gracious. Denying someone the opportunity to be gracious is far worse than someone holding onto a pleasant, if sexist, custom.

However, I don't automatically consider someone bad or impolite if they don't rush to follow the sexist rules. I'm sure more than one male in todays world is gun-shy due to an overzealous female rebuking their graciousness.

And, admittedly, I was bursting with pride the night I took the boyfriend to an office party and he was the only one who pulled chairs out for the ladies AND rose when they left and returned to the table, while all the other husbands and boyfriends were busy drinking their free generic beers.

I've been in CM for over 2yrs now and every time this is brought up the consensus is that anyone can post in any category if they have something to contribute.[:)]

Opening a door for a woman is a sexist custom? Is it still sexist if a woman opens the door for a man? All this time I thought I was just being courteous.

Opening a door for a woman is a sexist custom?

If they do it "because I'm the man and that's what a man does" then yes it's sexist.

Things can easily be both. One would hope a person would offer to open the door consistently no matter what gender. As a female I've learned how to balance allowing men to do what they feel they should do as males while not having it become a sexist custom in itself.

HiTop -> RE: Does it annoy people? (7/3/2005 8:06:50 AM)

I open doors for Nipper when entering most buildings. I open the car door for her as well. It is my intent that she be shown every customary/sexist courtesy a man/husband would accord his lady love.

However gruff, lewd or demanding I may be once we're thru that door is a topic for another day but outwardly she is still my Gal.

kisshou -> RE: Does it annoy people? (7/3/2005 10:15:32 AM)

I open doors for him .

I open the car door for him ahead of time to let the car cool off , or in the winter I go out first and start the car and warm it up.

When walking I heel him , a few paces behind off the left shoulder.

I am not allowed to answer questions in ask a Master forum. (There is a thread on here about how to be a better poster that addresses the same question)
