I got a letter (well, actually HE did, but he wasn't living there anymore, so I opened it,  lol)

Oooh... isn't that a felony (opening someone else's mail)? LOL

It`s not illegal to read a post card,or a print-out card.Those things don`t need opening.

Ok...now unless My reading skills have seriously declined where does this article say he definitively had an affair? I didn't see anywhere where he admitted to having an affair with anyone. By the sounds of it she decided they were done, she was moved out, and had initiated divorce. So the guy is supposed to what?? sit around and boohoo about the wife that decided she was divorcing him?? What is so extraordinary about someone actually moving on? There are so many people out there that can't function without a mate that I am almost surprised when a long time married person stays single after a split, it seems so rare nowadays. I think some even term it "the rebound effect". As for the actual wording...LOL...I have seen so many people fall in "love" during this phase, it would not be an uncommon thing to write IMO. And you ask yourself what person after sharing years of love and harmony in a marriage would want to keep a "possible" new thing, if what they have always loved and held dear is running back saying "ok let's make it work now"? I am glad to see not everybody was on a slamfest without garnering solid facts and evidence.

The wife should not have freaked out and decided that he was having an affair. Maybe been suspicious, gotten some proof first...then freaked out. I see this as a usual attempt of a spouse trying to bleed the other one for all they can get out of them. Instead of deciding this guy is a piece of crap that needs to be taken for all he is worth why not ask yourselves how much of the worth did she even put there? What true rights does she have to use something from a "single" point in his life to leverage more funds out of him now? The figure amounts for this “injustice” is ridiculous really…and using it as a way to gain more money for child support? Nice to know kids are a now a money pit to draw upon. And what proof has she really that she didn't have any kind of relationship or fling when they were separated? How many women get away with that while the husband pines for them to return to the marriage? Point is…shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

I don't go with the "well your just separated so you shouldn't in case it works out with the spouse"...not after being separated 9 yrs with no formal divorce. It wasn't necessary for Me and My ex-spouse as neither of us had plans to re-marry, yet we both moved on and it came to a point where it was and that was that.

As for the actual lawsuit regarding his claim of breach of confidentiality, though he does have some warrant to bitch about it he most likely will not get any kind of payout as the divorce was originally initiated before the incident…which points to the impossibility that they were the “reason for his divorce”

People make Me shake My head some days....

I think he`s trying to claim that the florist triggered the divorce suit,by exposing his deception.(lame,I know)He may have been dis-honest with her about what he was up to,during their separation.

If that`s what this is about, this guys suit against 1-800 Flowers, will definitely be found to be with out merit,ie.frivolous.

Before He Cheats

by Carrie Underwood.

Right now he's probably slow dancing with a bleached-blond tramp,
and she's probably getting frisky... right now,
he's probably buying her some fruity little drink cause she can't shoot whiskey...

Right now, he's probably up behind her with a pool-stick,
showing her how to shoot a combo...

And he don't know...

That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seat...
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires...

And maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.

Right now, she's probably up singing some
white-trash version of Shania karoke..
Right now, she's probably saying "I'm drunk"
and he's a thinking that he's gonna lucky,
Right now, he's probably dabbing 3 dollars worth of that bathroom Polo...
And he don't know...

That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seat,
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires...

And maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.

I might saved a little trouble for the next girl,
Cause the next time that he cheats...

Oh, you know it won't be on me!

Ohh... not on me...
Cause I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seat...
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires...

Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.

Or, he'll still get a few thousand bucks just to shut him up.  Which is the reason a great many frivolous suits are filed to begin with.  They know it's frivolous, but it's cheaper for the company to just pony up a few bucks and settle it out of court than to fight it in court.

Absolutely.  It's just one of many things wrong with our "system".

That's why it's such a great song....because it IS so deliciously creepy!   From a semi-professional singer's standpoint, a freakin' blast to perform!   Get that psycho look in your eyes, chillingly deadpan posture.....oh yeah, lol

The kids were probably with her where ever she was living at that time, since she had filed for divorce and they had separated.

And how dare he date just because his wife filed for divorce and left him.

Granted, the man is an ass, but there is a legitimate issue with how readily 1-800 FLOWERS handed over the copy of the receipt.

ok, everyone is right.

I have forgetten what it was/is like to be with someone. Some days I am glad, this is one of them lol.

but,

if he gave a home address and get caught, well, duh.

if you open the mail that isn't yours, wrong you. tsk tsk.

dating while merely separated for a few days/weeks, dumb him.

the woman didn't work out, probably smarter her.

yes, ETR Canadian roadpasses, gulps. Ya know, my ex when getting his MBA was busy, busy, lived far from S business school yet came home every night (2+hrs) from all day and night classes.  There were times that I was a lil paranoid and actually checked mails, parking tickets, parking passes and dates/times on those driving route thangs. gulps.  Then he came home one day, I barely noticed he had graduated, it was like he held 5 million bucks in his hand and all I did was stare at his pocket wondering what paper I could ransack while he slept!!!! I held one such ticket in confusion (because once I am a spaz, I can't think, and ?:20 pm looks like &:14am lol) and I am all confused, can't eat, can't sleep.  He said.."we have obviously MORE problems than my ETR ticket" and he sat me down.  No, he wasn't cheating or otherwise, he really was working hard, plus he was teaching economics, had me, and a full time position at a police station doing 12 hr shifts 3 days/week.

He said 'why look at an ETR ticket???'??? I didn't know how to explain how insane I was.  I collapsed in shame.

I just know, I learned that something worth having is NOT something that needs checking on (in that capacity) and I promised myself to never do that again to ANYBODY. If you have to question, I think even if you don't find negative, you will SEE negative and try to make logic out of it. So, noooo more mail snooping, no more asking dumb questions. The only question I ask now is 'why can't I find another guy like that?"

<sings 'my baby takes the mornin' train, he works from 9 to 5 and then...." lol

it could have been a total innocuous, routine procedure.
Many companies send follow up mail. It`s a marketing technique that reinforces the sale and brand name. These correspondences often come w/ coupons or discount cards, towards the next purchase.Little do the businesses know about a persons cheating or deception. It`s  only the spouses,w/ their unique knowledge, that can connect the dots and realize that there might be a problem.
