Every time I question this, I realize that vanilla girls don't follow a decent set of rules for relationships- if you try to get them to talk, they call the police. If you try to ask them out too often, they call the police. If you try to hold hands or act like a couple before _she_ wants to, they call the police. If you guess what she wants (because she won't ever tell you) and guess wrong, she calls the police

Maybe she has a cop fetish?

Umm...I have never had a vanilla girl call the cops on me. Are you sure you aren't coming on a bit too strong???

Thank you TopCat for a well written, correctly spelled poll. And a fun one that I enjoyed reading not only the posts, but the poll choices. My answer would have been, if allowed by the poll, DEF, smile. Stay a little bit crazy, lifes too short to take too seriously. Tess

Ummmmm not to sound too judgemental here, but what kind of girls do you date? I've dated at least my share of vanilla girls, and on the occasions where I have asked for more then she was willing to give at that time, the situation rarely goes beyond someone getting their feelings hurt. I've never had a woman call the police, have had no sexual assault charges of any kind, and in more instances then not, I am usually successful in at least getting the woman to communicate. Granted, I don't approach a girl I do not know well with a belt in hand, demanding "slut, you better start talking/spread your legs/date me NOW" as that would probably result in police interaction - and not just a roleplay.

The key to communication - with vanilla and BDSM people alike, is to give the woman/man good reason to talk to you: usually just being yourself is enough. BDSM doesn't give you any better or worse communication, I think, it just requires a greater awareness for the need to communicate.

Oh, and I am certainly mad. It's said that the there is a thin line between genius and madness. I'm of the opinion that one who delves deep within madness achieves genius, and that one who delves deep within genius finds only madness.

Finding BDSM was empowering to me. Never felt the least bit of guilt or uncertainty. Unlike when I discovered sex. Sadly. Also, coming to this as a submissive, I wasn't the one hitting anyone initially and I think that is an easier place to come from.

So......I voted for that adventurous spirit choice, though really, it just felt like comming home.

Iwill!

You're Back-

'RAY!

I am not gone, though I am missing- work has been as busy as ever the spring was, but now I have some time......

and 'working' pnuemonia.

blast and damn.

OK. I'll eat you, but you have to bring your own frying pan, and give me your shoes. nice ones- no sneakers...

I should be catching up on the board now, though. Anyway, I do think that I do this stuff for reasons relating to the chinks in my psyche. Nothing so strong as 'mental illness', though.

I feel a little uncomfortable when I hear people speaking of BDSM[whatever] relationships as 'better' than vanilla. I am quite sure that many people have supportive, caring, nutureing, passionate relationship with anyone having to hit anyone- I can't, it seems, but I have seen it work for others.

For me, something there is that is too wary to trust. If she trusts me, in such blantant and possibly risky ways, maybe I can trust her.

But it doesn't mean that it's better for everyone. I am not sure that it is even good for me. But it is fun, it allows me to practice and display skills that I take pride in, It provides a structure to our relationships that I think is a help for anyone in this brave new century of abandoned roles and forgotten expectations.

Stay warm,
Lawrence

Madame-

No, she's not- I just checked her profile. MyDearTess is in Az. How are you doing anyway? I'm home sick (actually, I am about to run out for cigarettes- it's amazing how bedrest makes me smoke<g>.)

Other than that, and missing you, life is OK. the good the bad the mad and the sad, all day, everyday.

I may be lining up a boat for the week after the 4th. One possibilitiesin Stamford, near you, which is good [but i'd have to bring the owner along, or he'll sulk}. The other ones right across the street from me, but I have a bunch of work the owner wants me to do on it. arrgh.

Let me know. I am going to need a boat that week to escape from my stalker- she's _everywhere_.

Stay warm,
Lawrence

Sundew02 -> RE: Are you crazy? (6/21/2004 12:47:28 PM)

No, Suz I have never met Lawrence. I am Tess, but a midwest Tess. Warm smile, Tess

MizSuz -> For Tess (6/21/2004 5:27:20 PM)

Well Tess, it's mighty fine to meet you anyway! [:D]

ShadeDiva -> RE: For Tess (6/21/2004 6:04:24 PM)

I'm nuts.

And happy that way.

Neener.

lol

Has nothing to do with my lifestyle at all though, IMO.

Sundew02 -> RE: For Tess (6/21/2004 6:09:46 PM)

Suz, Very nice to meet you as well. I have enjoyed the message board on collarme to this point more than the personals, wicked laugh, more real people here. Stay safe, Tess

baileythorne -> RE: Are you crazy? (6/21/2004 11:09:05 PM)

Lawrence, I don't think a boat is going to do it. Rumor has it that your "stalker" knows how to sail...

Thanatosian -> RE: Are you crazy? (6/22/2004 5:35:31 AM)

hey!!!!! where's the 'you damn betcha, and proud of it' option?????????

IMX there are no totally sane people in the world - everyone has a little tic or kink or obsession or callitwhatyouwill - those of us in the lifestyle are just more open and honest about ours, which, again IMX, makes us among the more 'stable' people (am betting a psychologist would love to psychoanalyze me right about now[;)])

Do we see a pattern emerging here?

BDSM girls communicate, usually don't mind doing "couple" stuff after a _reasonable_ period of time, and will actually tell you what they want. Did I mention they communicate more?

Let her decide how intimate you will be and when you will be that? Do they call themselves "Mistress" and do you have phone numbers?[:D]

topcat -> RE: Are you crazy? (6/22/2004 10:43:47 PM)

M. Thanatosian-

I was trying to get to whether people see it as higher state of relationship or as a something of a shortcoming- I had been speaking to a few people who gave me the impression that they thought that this stuff was superior to any other lifestyle- not ust better for them.

stay warm,

Lawrence

MistressKiss -> RE: Are you crazy? (6/22/2004 11:44:20 PM)

Lawrence, what is the story on the handbasket? I am too curious not to ask.

Thanatosian -> RE: Are you crazy? (6/23/2004 8:51:05 AM)

M Topcat -

the first line of my post was entirely tongue in cheek/smartass (have to remain true to form)

the second part gave some of my truer feelings on the subject, but I now realize upon rereading it that I may not have been as clear as I might have hoped.

in trying to keep an open mind I cannot agree that this lifestyle is 'superior' (i.e. better) than any other lifestyle, I do agree that it is a higher form of relationship - in that, as stated in my last post, people in the BDSM lifestyle usually seem to be more open and honest with each other about it, making for a 'deeper' and 'better' relationship, IMX

still not sure if I am being as clear as I would like, but am going to leave it like I typed it

apply usual caveats here

oh, and please forgive the presumption

M. Kiss

Lawrence's entire signature comes from a play on words about the phrase "Going to hell in a handbasket"

TallDarkAndWitty -> RE: Are you crazy? (6/23/2004 8:55:20 AM)

Thanatosian...

...thanks for explaining Lawrence's sig...I kept trying to find some Wizard of Oz reference, but never quite making any sense of it.

Yours,
Taggard
