I agree that there are different degrees of friends, however, if I can't mention that I'm doing somethign because my partner says so, or that I have to get home to make dinner before him or I'll get in trouble, I don't want to be friends.

i found D/s about 14 months ago; so most of my friends are vanilla..and very old, dear friends. i found i was able to tell my girlfriends, but i could never picture myself telling any of my male friends, not even my gay friends. i think there is a boundary in place there..when men and women are friends...that means intimate sexual matters are not discussed..and they would not know of BDSM, so i'd need to explain it, not just reveal i was involved..and i just could not imagine this happening.

My girlfriends all had the same reaction. Are you REALLY doing this? What's it like? Tell me more! No, no, no i do not want to join up (but i want every detail of yr experiences). Buncha voyeurs, LOL.

No question is a dumb question. As for me...i have friends on both sides of the coin...vanilla and lifestylers. I won't stop being friends with those who are not in the lifestyle for i had been vanilla longer than I have been a lifestyler. But that's not to say i will hide what I am because the vanilla friends find me weird lol.
