... I went to the beauty supply shop and bought all the stuff myself for about $50-$60. (wax warmer, wax, sticks, creams, etc)  and have saved myself about $600 over the course of a year!

I bought a sugaring kit (almost the same thing as a waxing kit) & tried it out... works wonderfully on the legs, BUT I can't do my own underarms (hurts like an S.O.B too... an NO HAIR GETS REMOVED ). As for the pubes, the mons is fine, most of the majora are fine, but not all of it. I need at least a third hand . So, if you have any amound of love or caring for another human being inside you, PUHLEEEZZZZ tell me how you get completely bare. I and my neither regions will adore you for it.

You get someone to help you. My Lady actually does enjoy helping with waxing... she laughs and laughs at the looks I get on my face, which makes me giggle. You need to be able to hold the skin tight when you are ready to pull is the big thing.

The water-soluble kits (sugaring) are easier to use at home than the wax, because you can use hot water and soap to get off any remaining sticky.  The regular wax takes mineral oil to take off the last stickiness.

But to START with, I called around my local city salons until I found one that does Sphynx waxes (sometimes "Hollywood waxes" is the name).  A Brazilian wax leaves a "landing strip" of pubic hair, the Spynx is completely bare. Both strip all the nether hair, including places I simply can't reach well enough. The Brazilian wax was designed for people wearing thong bikinis, so any area where hair would show outside such a thong is removed.

It seems to me to be easier to maintain the wax job at home, and ya, the salon waxing can be pricey. But I found it a huge help to get the inital wax done by pros.

use 'baby' products on sensitive skin. baby shampoo and children's conditioner work very well. also try baby oil, but it can be quite a yucky mess if you use too much...

Don't trim the day you see him...after a trim the hair is more "spiky" feeling.  I will also add, that on a personal note for both me and one of my subs, shaving was an intense irritant.  Then I found a shaver called Intuition.  It has a conditioning head FILLED with a conditioner that feels like hair conditioner going on, and totally surrounds the shaver.  It's only good for a couple of times, (one side of the conditioner wears down before the other, something about the angle used probably, lol) but it DOES work, and is the ONLY one in almost 50 years I have found.  If you do continue to trim, definitely use hair conditioner, but again, don't trim the same day.  The conditioner after a day will have a chance to tame the sharp ends.

more along these lines is the venus breeze, which has the same idea behind it but its a little easier to hold onto in the tub. i have used the intuition and it was nice, just hard for my tiny hands to hold. the venus is very nice:)

Warmed extra-virgin olive oil (not the cheap sort that smells horrid) applied after you've trimmed to the hair will work as a nice conditioner and will also moisturize your skin.  You can even use it overnight, being sure to wear a pair of cotton panties to keep it out of your bedding overnight.  In the morning, shower or bathe as usual, being careful not to slip with the oil in the tub/stall.  Incidentally, this also works well for a weekly conditioner for hair and scalp (all except oily hair/scalp types.)

Ok just for laughs - yall have to see the video on the site of the place I go to for waxing.
http://www.waxingatlanta.com/
And I am a bit of nature girl so had not shaved anywhere for about 20 years and just "got a wild hair" so to speak and decided one day to try it out.  I did the research and went to this place which was great.  They are actually Brazilian and use a wax on the pubic and under arm area that is much less harsh.  It is called hard wax and they smooth it on - it dries and hardens in a about 10 secounds and then they peel it off without muslin strips  but the wax comes in a gentler solid peice itself.

The most difficult part is the vulnerability of having folks poke around down there a bit - but they are totally professional and put you at ease and the results are quite nice.  First time hurt a good but but not too bad - and I am sentive skin wise esspecially.  And the skin was red and a little traumatized the first time for a day or two.  But thereafter it has not been a big deal as far as pain, time and trauma.  The most suprising part I thought was that they do your hiney (ya know, between - so that you are hairless from one end to the other)!  The ladies say that all women have a suprising amount of hiney hair - who knew - that part was very much a "hey what are you doing back ther kind of experience".  They also said that half their clientel are men getting there neither regions waxed. But being smooth all over tends to make everything more sensitive and even quicker to respond sexually.

Ok, so I finally decided to try the plucking approach today....Ive been working on it all day....there is just way too much hair...how the hell does anyone pluck? For one, my eyes start watering and I have to keep taking breaks cause I cant keep bending over that far too....but I mean really...this is going to take forever.

Shaving...using oils, creams, gels, everything thats ever been suggested anywhere...I still get a million little itchy bumpies...

I tried waxing, but I defenantly need to become alot more flexible and grow three more hands

Soooooo yesterday I invested $80.00 in a Panasonic Epilator. The fancy one with the carrying case and all. Can be used wet or dry! Attachments! Rechargable for those hair removal frenzies!

With anticipation and hope I sat crosslegged on my bed and proceeded to fill the next 20 minutes with a struggle against over-packaging. It took 2 pair of scissors and 1 screwdriver.

Shiny. Pretty! A lovely rose colored impliment that fit oh so cozily in the palm of my hand. Lovely except for the slightly intimidating epilator head.. wires and unknown bits that appear sharp. But hey, it is a hair removal thingie so it has to have sharp metallic bits right? Right?

I extend my left leg in its furry glory and study the hair growth. I read the booklet that came with my soon to be newest happiest hair removal system GO ME! I turn it on and admire the buzzy sound (much louder than my fav vibe dontchya know).

A deep breath and steady hand now as I bring the shiny prong thingies closer and closer. I know it is going to pull, probably sting quite a bit but I am tuff. Tuff. TUFF!

One brief touch against my lower leg and I scream so damned loud I scare my dog.
Blood. Holy moly the blood!!! 8 beads of blood pop up then slide down my leg.
The hair
did
not
budge.

Now I have a bruise the size of my palm and a double row of scabs.

Anyone wanna buy a very very slightly used epilator? That thing will never ever get near my precious nether regions!

I have to say it's funny that you went with something that NO ONE recommended, that if you had asked we'd have likely all warned against, and that cost a chunk of money.

And I have to ask if you can’t do waxing, what made you think an epilator would be a better choice?

omg honey...do you know what that thing does?! i did a 30 second google search...the conventional one just pulls out the hair, the panasonic one pushes down the skin as it pulls out the hair...BAD IDEA...bad bad...no self masochism...umm speaking of which...do test patches of the magic powder if you do use it, i've heard it can leave one hell of a chemical burn on your nether regions...

OMG!  Your narration is priceless!!!

Like a couple of the other ladies here, I learned to wax myself after going to the pros.  It's extremely time consuming, but you can do it.  Next time you might want to try buying the items need for this instead.  Lay out your muslin strips and such ahead of time and make sure you have your wax at the right temperature.  Sit on something you don't care if you ruin (because you will).  Also be sure to invest in those disposable wooden stir sticks.  They're well worth it.  Trick is, take your time!  It's a long, slow process when you're doing it by yourself.
I can no longer do this because of problems with my neck, but I used to do it all the time.  Funny how people who don't mind getting their nipples pierced (I thought it hurt like HELL), flinch at the thought of getting waxed.  LOL
Oh yes!  One more thing that I've found helpful.  I have extremely sensitive skin as well and have problems with itching and bumps.  Before you put on that moisturizer, dab on some witch hazel.  It'll sting a little, but it will help a lot with the itching and bumps.  Also, if you wax, don't moisturize except right after the initial waxing as it tends to clog the pores and cause ingrown hairs.  Alas, another hazard with waxing.
So sorry about your experience with the machine, but it made for a GREAT story!  ROFLMAO

Cmail. It is all the fault of Cmail dangit. I got a few suggesting that as a good way to go.... can you guess that I still believe in the Great Pumpkin??
Honest to gods I had no idea. It was impulsive. A momentary (whilst in Target) lightbulb overhead proclaiming the ease and convience conviently leaving out the blood.

Hair. Hair is beautiful. Long hair, short hair. Spiky pubic hair (especially so), silky leg hair. Crap, even dangly underarm hair has its appeal to someone somewhere...

Edit: Seeeeeeee? I do need micro managed hahaha!

I thought too, that with the sheer amount of pain medication I take daily that my tolerance would be different with this. I spent an hour or so online reading various reactions to various epi products and truly it did not sound that bad.
The size of the bruise is astonishing lol.

Glad you all enjoyed the experience with me  (that is a hairball btw).

Hey - If you go the wax route - (under arms, half leg and nether regions here costs 65) definitely do your homework on the local places.  The Brazilian ladies at the place I go to - got really upset when I asked them about that scene for 40 year old virgin - ("ohhhhh Kelly Clarkston") and the method used to remove chest hair.  They thought it was a bad depiction of their profession because they would never use the muslin strip wax for sensitive areas.  They only use that kind of wax for legs and/or when requested.  It does pull the hair out more thoroughly - but they are of the opinion that it is too harsh for most folks and that the wax that hardens and is pulled without the muslin fabric is gentler. The legs do get a smoother feel - but the other areas get soft and smooth and are not irritated by the process - no bumps ever and only the first time was the skin red for a few days.  I have called around to see what other places here use this method and most are not even aware that there are different types of wax.  I guess one may have to have it done more often - but for me I have to wait at least 6 weeks before there is enough fur to remove.  I have become a fan - for me it is this method of wax or full fur coverage.  And I rather like both ways. Course, I am not trying to please a Dom/me - only myself which probably makes a difference.  Good luck.

does anyone know how to approach the subject of allergies with older women who don't speak much english and know everything? lol...specifically i am allergic to aloe, and i don't know what product had it, but the one time i got my eyebrows waxed i had an allergic reaction...i would love to get salon waxes on various things, willing to try the brazillian (if only you didn't have to let it grow so long before getting it waxed again) but it really kills the effect if you are covered with an allergic reaction for the time period you are hairless...so...yea, thats my delima....

First you ask the receptionist if you use any aloe products in the waxing process, and make SURE she gives you a clear and solid answer.  If she doesn't know, she should ask a manager or owner and again make SURE you get a clear and solid answer.

On the day of the appointment, you need to smile and say very slowly and distinctly "No aloe please" and perhaps even have a card with "No Aloe" written on it.

Try to cut most hair with a scissors. Less painfull than pucking everything out. I don't even want to think about how that feels.
Before my master shaves me i shampoo it with a babyshampoo so it will stay soft, and then when my Master shaves my public hair with a normal razorblade and puts on creme i don't have any rash or pain. Works fine for me.

I was never able to shave, ingrowns were terrible. I liked to go to a spa to get waxed. It was $75 a session and lasted about three weeks.

One day I started  looking around online. I found a professional grade transdermal eletrolysis machine, almost like a tens unit. It has tweezers, different sized pads and a small wand that can be used with it. It works wonderfully. Yes, it cost about $500 for the machine, but it's permanent. It takes a few treatments. It came with great instructions. I love it.

Greetings camile,
sorry you had such a horrific epilating episode :-(   i have had very good success with my epilator but i also leave a thin Landing strip on my lips but even my bikini area does very well and i like the fact it is not as messy as wax although i keep that on hand too.

Ocilla,

That video clip was priceless! LMAO!!! i remember my first waxing job to myself, i though i had done just that!!
