Especially desired: the Korean serial dramas (I'm warning you - watch just a little of one, and you're down for 20+ hours of programming, till the last episode); Japanese, Chinese, and Korean movies; and Jrock/K-rock music programming, especially the ones with subtitled interviews!
Longing for a new place to watch all that Asian programming (subtitled or English), ever since Comcast dropped their own AZN channel from basic cable, some months ago. Thumbs down to you, Comcast, for so many things.
Crime shows...
Shows in which they interview (real life) criminal profilers, or cover other psychological aspects of real crime solving, I find fascinating.
Sometimes, documentary shows on martial arts.
Bones: I really wasn't going to watch that show - I don't want to watch another one of those shows centered around close-ups and graphics of grisly forensics, all taking place in ridiculously unrealistic, hyper-designed and lit sets, with equipment from a science fiction. ...But, I accidentally caught a bit of dialogue, as I was changing channels, on the first episode: "Honey, you ever stop to think, you come off a little distant, because you connect too much?" Well, I related so much to that odd remark, I was hooked.
I also really enjoy Criminal Intent - that's the only Law & Order show I like. Except now, I think they're moving it to USA channel, this season. I wonder why?
I watch Criminal Minds, for the cast and the characters there - and for the profiling, when it's well written. Getting a little sick of 101 ways to bizarrely murder someone, though. ("We deduced that someone got the unsub's lollipop linty, in grade school. Now, that's his signature," et cetera). The crimes on most of these crime shows are beginning to remind one of those devices that are meant to go through 50 quirky little unnecessary steps, in order to simply crack an egg, at the end.
Someone else mentioned the Daily Show and The Colbert Report - Yes! They are a necessity.
Burn Notice has been fun, so far. It's the one about the special ops guy who's been fired, and wants to know why. He has a *literally* kick-ass girlfriend.
