instynctive -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:13:26 AM)

I guess I'm your standard redneck... give Me an ice cold beer and I'm happy.

Brand-wise... Guinness is and always will be King... but I do enjoy Sam Adams (especially the Boston Ale)... and there's a micro brewery here in Maine called "Gritty McDuff's"... all their beer is incredible.

Although, while playing a gig, or after working out in the hot sun all day, nothing tastes better than a Coors light.

So I run the gambit.  :-)

SeeksOnlyOne -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:17:42 AM)

camille65 -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:25:56 AM)

Ooooooh I just discovered frooooty (you have to roll the R on that word) beer!! Now I am a beer drinker [:D] , where in the past couple of decades I was a total non drinker.
Petes Wicked Ale Strawberry
Pyramid Apricot
Leinenkugel (sp?) Berry Weiss

One bottle and I am out for the night hahahaha. Maybe by the end of summer I can down two frooooooty beers and still be standing?
[:D]

instynctive -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:27:02 AM)

Why am I not surprised you're a "sex on the beach" kind of gal...?

;-)

missjan -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:27:14 AM)

frozen margaritas for me...

TNDomDiscipline -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:33:11 AM)

I am all about the shots... Liquid Cocaine is my favorite... Jagermeister and Goldsclager mixed together.... 1, 2, 3, floor!

sappatoti -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 7:19:33 AM)

Another Jager and Goldschlager person... Yay! [:D]

e01n -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 7:33:32 AM)

I have many...
Coffee - 1 sugar per 4oz., never larger than 12oz cup... prefer lighter roasts to the burnt Starfucks BS... yes I'm very picky. cope.
Sodas/Pop - Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb. Never Pepsi. Never diet anything - gives me really bad headaches. ER trip headaches.

I normally prefer juices and non-dairy/non-thick smoothies... or coffee.

Drink drinks: Gin martinis, not so dry, "5 Boroughs" Manhattans, Daquiris & Margaritas on rocks, green Chartreuse & vodka with tonic, Vodka & tonic with bitters... So whatever out of that list that's able to be made from the bar, that's my favorite. At that minute.

Whisky: Glenmorangie or Glenfiddich. Whiskey: Jameson, never Bushmills.

Beer: equally picky as with coffee. Guinness, Harp, or whatever is made locally from local ingredients... and NEVER offer me a "black & tan" unless you want me to teach you some Irish history that will make you never again want one either...

Wine: yes. ;) It's part of my job to love wine... My favorite grapes have Z in the name...

And I'm always up for trying things at least twice. The first time might be a fluke... ;)

Think of it this way: you are paying me to give you pleasure through your mouth. If I don't know what I'm doing and what it feels like, how can I do that?

And it's an act of love to make sure that what I'm doing for your pleasure is the absolute best thing that I can make it be.

Reverse it - I'd want the same for me. I want to get off orally, too!

KMsAngel -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 9:29:37 AM)

siiiiigh... alright i'm convinced. ur fussy, but u have ur reasons. i like the way you think!

e01n -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 9:37:59 AM)

Almost forgot: I make a mean Vesper... learned how from my dad waaaaaaay back in the day. It made me so happy when Mr. Craig got it right in the movie... it's a tongue twister to describe.

beargonewild -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 9:39:40 AM)

Rum and coke (preferrably Cap't Morgan dark deluxe)
Smirnoff Ice
Zombies  (blend of  5 rums, grenadine, soda water)
Vodka with any type of mix
Spanish and Irish coffees
Bailey's on ice or in coffee
Manhattans (former Master turned me on to these and are quite delicious)

Neala -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:26:18 PM)

Haven't read the rest of the posts yet..but wanted to add....you can't use pure alcohol. It will be digusting if you use no water.

Alochol (obviously) has a lower freezing tempature than water. If you use too much alcohol it won't freeze properly. Think about it...you can put a bottle of vodka in your freezer for 3 months with out it freezing. LOl

Enlightenedespot -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:32:33 PM)

Bushmills please...with 3 ice cubes

Neala -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:33:01 PM)

Oh!

Irish Car Bombs-

Big ass cup of Guinness.  You really can't have too much of the Guinness.

Now, once you  have the big cup of Guinness ya grab a shot glass. Yes, that's right. Now, pour mostly  Jameson  into the shot glass. Then on the top of the Jameson pour a little bit of Bailey's Irish cream. Pour it SLOWLY. Not fast. Ya want it sitting on top of the Jameson not mixing. Ew. Curdled Bailey's = bad.

So, now drop the shot glass into the Guinness. Tip your head back, and drink it alll down.

LOL. I should start a thread on how to make alcoholic drinks. Yay!

e01n -> RE: Favorite drink (8/19/2007 5:45:37 PM)

Since I've gotten emails asking for the recipe and I can't edit the older posts because I logged out since then, I present the Copyright infringing version of a Vesper:
quote:

"A dry martini," [Bond] said. "One. In a deep champagne goblet."

"Oui, monsieur."

"Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?"

"Certainly, monsieur." The barman seemed pleased with the idea.

"Gosh, that's certainly a drink," said Leiter.

Bond laughed. "When I'm...er...concentrating," he explained, "I never have more than one drink before dinner. But I do like that one to be large and very strong and very cold and very well-made. I hate small portions of anything, particularly when they taste bad. This drink's my own invention. I'm going to patent it when I can think of a good name."

-Ian Fleming, Casino Royale
