I have only changed my profile 3 times in the many years I've been here. but I'm not the only one on here that has done so.

my experience is that only one anti depresent works for me. effexxor. i tried doing w/o and the results were bad.

some are angainst this type of pill. a few of my friends are on antidepressents.

the human liver wieghts 7 lbs.  it is quite resiliant.

for me - the meds help tremendously.

i always keep my appointments w my psychiatrist.

it takes 3-6 weeks for this type of med to kick in. if one doesnt work try anothern. this is not a one size fits all med.

to the person that claimed someone was posting under multiple names... be careful with this type of assessment. IMO you are incorrect.   When someone cries out for help- why be vicious? as thats how the context appears. ?????

I am going to assume that you were responding to me as I was the one who told Michael to revisit all of the threads he has posted under his different profiles. I was not accusing him of doing something underhanded, merely stating a fact which he went on to confirm. As far as vicious....I am sorry if you perceive my post as vicious. I was giving Michael the best advice that I know how to give. I have spent a great deal of time in the past responding to Michael with positive suggestions and heartfelt advice, only to have it thrown back at me with excuse, after excuse after excuse. I am far, far from alone as I believe that there are countless others who have put a lot of time and effort into trying to help Michael with the same result.

Mist- thank you for clarification.

I did not know what to make out of your earlier post.

If I refuse to make up my bed- then I complain that my bed is unmade- it rests on me- and me alone.

I went thru this with my brother. It was like banging my head against the wall. At the end of the day tho- it is on him to chart a course and take action toward a better life.

you know, you may be right. it doesn't matter what I post, there are those vultures out there waiting to jump on me regardless, just to make themselves seem more impotant than they really are. but, I guess, if it wasn't me they were jumping on, they'd find someone else to beat up and belittle. must make them proud to tear up other people in this manner.

Sadly you are correct...their are mean people on here...i'm very glad you have the smarts not to take it personally...and see it and them for what it is.

well, I went to the dentist and was all set to have some teeth extracted, but after hearing another patient crying, screaming and otherwise signifying pain in a vocal manner, I walked out, mouth still numb from the shots. I think I need to find a dentist that will put me under before pulling teeth.

I've spent the past couple of days going through what you're contemplating. My dentist had me all numbed up on Wednesday to extract some teeth that showed up as broken below the gum line, but didn't want to cause permanent damage or pain while doing so. He sent me to an oral surgeon who, on the following day, put me under and did the work. I'm thankful that my dentist is conscientious enough not to deliberately cause pain and to refer me to a much saner alternative.

Ask your dentist if there's any oral surgeons they may recommend. It will definitely pay off in the end.

I started calling around after I got home and have an appt with another dentist. I explained to them what I had gone through (mouth is still numb from those damn shots). we'll see what they'll do. I hope they put me under.

I always do that when I go to the Dentist especially if there's young U.M.'s in the waiting room.

Well at least you're consistent and nothing's changed....once again you are the victim of your own thread. My advice to you is that you should go back and read every single thread you have ever posted under all of your different names and re-read all of the heartfelt and good advice that I and others have put a lot of time and thought into. You should also take notice as to how you have struck down every single suggestion that anyone has ever made. People get tired Mike, of putting time and effort into someone who doesn't really want to do anything to help themself.

Being in a depression is a catch 22.  You feel miserable, know you need help, but you also feel hopeless and that nothing can or will ever change, no matter what efforts you make. It really is a dark cloud to live under that if you don't sufer from it, you won't ever really understand it.  Mist i think you probably have had very good intentions in trying to help Michael in the past, as many posters have.  You speak of the time and effort put in as if you are anticipating a return on this invetsment of advice. That's unreasonable given the nature of what he is going through.  You assume he doesn't really want to do anything, but do you consider maybe he truly cannot, because his depression is so severe it has crippled him in this capacity.   i know your frustrated but going from trying to help to being unkind by saying people are getting tired of putting time and effort into him doesn't really help the situation, maybe it alleviates your frustration, i don't know.

Michael you sound like a decent human being and i wish you the best in your lifes journey.  Only you have the real power to make changes you need to make - psychiatrists, meds, etc are all tools - depression is a tough battle, no doubt, but i once was told it's a thought disorder and if you change the way you think - even if you do not believe the things you tell yourself, you can improve the depression.  Thanks for sharing and a heartfelt good luck to you.

I've stopped taking them due to their ineffectiveness. like I said, I develop immunities to drugs after constant use of them in a 3 month period of time.

I hope that you did NOT go off of the depression meds cold turkey.  Sometimes that can cause more problems than the depression itself.

Yup, like seizures.  i don't know what meds you were on but three months doesn't seem like a long enough trial period - especially if the dosage was never adjustd or perhaps another added to the mix - sometimes meds in combination work better.

I’ve included a little emoticon in my signature so you can all see when I am happy and when I’m sad.
