Maybe in Usa Dell is good but here in Australia my friends have had terrible times with them. Costly to up-grade. Cant change certain Bios settings. There is a hack out that you can change xp home to xp pro. Although your not meant to be able to install SP2. There would be ways around it more then likely but would it be worth the time for the benifits you would get? (Taken from SirKenin) They are for enterprise level networking mostly.

I use XP pro and also have SP2. Have one computer with XP home...there is a big quality difference I see. One with NT on it. Well I build computers so I have a few.

That's why the kids use the home version and I use the pro version...until I upgrade of course.

Home and XP are the exact same until you hit networking.. Placebo effect. It is always easier to blame it on Microsoft than it is to take the responsibility for yourself.

With the exception of the XP pro computer has a whole lot more programs. No kids programs. Did I forget to mention these kids are 20 year's old? Oh, I guess I forgot to mention I have a very good friend who worked on XP for Microsoft in Seattle and he has told me there are serious issues with XP home? Oh wait, thats the placebo affect though isn't it? Maybe he is a mirage? Oh, maybe I also forgot to mention I used to be in the same business you are so I know a wee little about comptuers. Now, as I've stated at least 3 to 4 times now. It is personal preference. Either accept the fact I have an opinion or do not. I am entitled.
