Okay, I admit to being a bit confused. What, if anything, does the OP have to do with BDSM?

Celeste

I believe this is simply that BDSM activitity many people enjoy and often refer to as a "Mind Fuck".

Now let me see if I got this right...

1. you came on a forum and bitched about forums.
B. you follow that up by insulting one of the more (if not the most) helpful person here when a newbie pops up with a real concern.
3. you then insult pretty much everyone htat desides to challenge your narrow minded prospective.
E. you post an off topic thread in the BDSM discussion forum therefore making many friends with the moderators.

Welcome to CM hope you make plenty of friends here.

And btw, bananas are not the best thing ever, I would pefer to have a nice pair of cat claw gloves, yet even they do not compare with some good sex.

kyra, I dont need to read it because I didnt say "you cant know people" if you trace it back I said "why do some people on here take a fairly relaxed, open point or question on these message boards and then spend time breaking it down, focusing on semantics and declaring the "answer", often quite aggressively?!" so I'm suggesting if someone says "why does...???" and you then think you can say "you should, you dont know, your a..." then, well you know what I think of that person!!

Seanpony on the other hand....I can see you see it!! spread the word!!

SM I really dont disagree... I am fairly confident I can talk to someone for ten mins and have a fairly good OPINION about them... as you may have noticed, I think and over think and that comes down to patterns and reactions and interactions too BUT I dont think  someone can say "he's asked if all this D/s is morally correct" he is naive, should seek counselling, has "domguilt" (one I missed in my psychology studies and psychology is poorer for it!!) :) and is clearer telling everyone their life is actually Dominated by self-esteem issues!! ... but other people think they can!! I find it arrogant/ignorant.

One of the common mistakes of youths such as yourself is that if you haven't experienced something "it must not exist".  Well, just because your ability to read others is undeveloped, don't assume others share the same failing.  My arrogance comes not from ego but from experience, while I am at times wrong, more often I am exactly right.

It's interesting, because the older I get, the more humble I feel (not that I act that way, as is obvious to most out there...).

Then why is this statement in your original post as one of your answers:

quote:

- If you really think you can take a snap shot of a person and then tell them what they do and dont know and what they should and shouldnt do as a consequence... you're an arrogant idiot!!

My post was specifically in response to this assumption of yours, which is why I quoted that comment.  I was simply giving you more reading material that would show that your "answer" is a false assumption.

However, after reading several of your posts on this thread, I realized that it was a message wasted on you.  I left it because I am sure others would be interested in the book.

p.s.  I happen to think Lucky's posts kick ass and I have told her that on occasion.

phin/SM... what can I say to you?! do you read the words or are you "skimmers"?? Let me break it down... I basically said "why do SOME people take a fairly open, relaxed comment or qu, then attack attack attack, not with what they think but what they KNOW??" so, again, I'm suggesting if someone asks "why does...whatever???" and you then think you can say "you should, you dont know, your a..."

phin then says....

1. you came on a forum and bitched about forums. - (didnt happen)
B. you follow that up by insulting one of the more (if not the most) helpful person here when a newbie pops up with a real concern - (what someone has or hasnt done is irrelevant, I can offer a differing view to anyone I want, especially if they arent even reading what I've wrote, i.e you).
3. you then insult pretty much everyone htat desides to challenge your narrow minded prospective - (is a different view is an insult?!.. your Dom right!!)
E. you post an off topic thread in the BDSM discussion forum therefore making many friends with the moderators - (I'm sure they arent too upset, its the second thread I've posted and the world is still spinning!!).

and SM.... one of the common mistakes of the more "mature man" is to point out his fear of the more "youthful man"... I initially thought you were giving your opinions and thoughts on things but you've got this BDSM guru desire as well!! shame!!

I already know the answer to everything, it's 42. It'sThe Ultimate Answer to Life, The Universe, and Everything! (Those who know what I am talking about are laughing)....

About 42 and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

The number 42 is The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything, according to Douglas Adams' series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Numerous others have parodied this supposed mysticism of 42.

To go on further....there are 7 days in a week and 6 beers in a pack. 7*6 = 42. Coincidence? I think not!

why do some people on here take a fairly relaxed, open point or question on these message boards and then spend time breaking it down, focusing on semantics and declaring the "answer", often quite aggressively?! opinions are great but if it starts with the sentence "you're assumption is false" or any of the like... thats not an opinion!!

....two basic points. Focussing on semantics is basically what constitutional discussion invariably boils down to....so, given how many topics here impinge on the constitution of those in the US don't be surprised to see semantics disscted in all its gory detail.
Secondly, the 'your assumption is false' is an opinion provided it is preceded by the phrase 'in my opinion'.
See? Semantics is useful.

B. you follow that up by insulting one of the more (if not the most) helpful person here when a newbie pops up with a real concern - (what someone has or hasnt done is irrelevant, I can offer a differing view to anyone I want, especially if they arent even reading what I've wrote, i.e you). so exactly why do you assume that I did not read the OP? because I didnt quote it? In my opinion I did read it, twice
3. you then insult pretty much everyone htat desides to challenge your narrow minded prospective - (is a different view is an insult?!.. your Dom right!!)If every opinion is given as a "you are wrong I am right, you should be like me" statement then in my opinion it is an insult.
E. you post an off topic thread in the BDSM discussion forum therefore making many friends with the moderators - (I'm sure they arent too upset, its the second thread I've posted and the world is still spinning!!). I have done it before myself, but then I had something different than that ice cream cone before I did it twice.

and SM.... one of the common mistakes of the more "mature man" is to point out his fear of the more "youthful man"... I initially thought you were giving your opinions and thoughts on things but you've got this BDSM guru desire as well!! shame!! "With age comes wisdom" a wise man once said, although from time to time a persons "opinions" will get in the way.

haha philosophy... I could read what you have to say all night, but I'm knackered.... what I dont want to do is to leave people misunderstnading me... I've found out these posts have a serious case of chinese whispers, one misinterpretation and it has a life of its own!!

My original point was simply... why do SOME people take what is often a simple observation or off the cuff comment, often with little controvery, and feel the need to respond as an aggressive authority?

Also,

1 If you really think you know all there is to know about yourself or any subject... you're an idiot!!
This is simply...In my opinion people can always learn something about themselves and even if they have vast knowledge of a subject, theres more they can know. When someone decides they know it all I think they are doing themselves an injustice

2) If you really think you can take a snap shot of a person and then tell them what they do and dont know and what they should and shouldnt do as a consequence... you're an arrogant idiot!!
This does not relate to "you cant learn about someone" it means if someone asks a simple, isolated question and your response is "you dont know this, you are this, you should do this, etc" they are arrogant!!

I'm sure someone will decide this now needs attacking haha but all the best anyway!! :)

If you read Worst Case Scenario: Dating and Sex there is a chapter on how to figure out who the person in your bed is. Also how to undo a bra one-handed.

I'm fairly good at one, and don't anticipate needing a whole lot of the other... but that's a book title that just begs me to read it.

And of course, MadRabbit, it's a pleasant shock if the person is as attractive as they were the night before. But considering a good portion of my life has been spent doing things because they'll eventually make a good story, the situation was never too bad.

It's hilarious. It also tells you how to spot if someone is faking an orgasm.

Thus committing the very crime you came here to denounce and just accused me of...how charming.

Tell you what, when you have been half as open, half as vulnerable as I have in this forum I will kiss your ass and polish your boots.  Till then however, I will continue to see you as a child thinking he has discovered something new because this is the first time he has seen it.

Food for thought child, if you are going to champion modesty and humility do you really thing "yourGuardian" is an appropriate moniker?  Its sort of like saying "I am the best at modesty"...
