Neala -> Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 2:34:09 AM)

 I just had the lovely opportunity of meeting Mr. Shrink and was curious if you boys and girls have ever run into that type before?

Ya know the type when ya say something other than "Yes, lord of all things great and wonderful" they start to analyze you.

"Yes, I think you have deep seeded child hood issues because you like vanilla ice cream and have this weird thing...called...an opinion!"

What, what, whhhhat?! Slaves have an opinion...slander!

Okay..so...yes...have you lovelies run into this as well?

came4U -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 2:45:09 AM)

Yes, that type may or may not have 1 year (probably half term) of college psych (or took notes from several episodes of M*A*S*H).

I let em ramble, and then I may or may not enclose my education.  Then I tell them what their diagnosis could potentially be.

It isn't even funny, the mind games people attempt (how someone believes or tolerates it is beyond me).

I have seen it, it makes me ill and gives me a chill to the bone.

Online wannabe-shrinks are my hard limit.

fsslave -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 4:13:17 AM)

Yup, ran into some of them...post a fairly superficial question, and some of the respondents just...overthink it. They read between the lines and think they have a handle on your deeper issues...more than likely they are projecting their own issues into the question. (Aha..see there, I just did the exact same thing) I've learned to ignore them, I think they  really believe they are helping. BUT...then another respondent will come along, read the post exactly as I meant it and nail it. Often these helpful posts started out with "I've been through that..."  so, there are all ends of the spectrum. This is "just" one very opinionated slave's opinion![:)]

mnottertail -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 4:58:16 AM)

I can see by your admission of posting fairly superficial questions that you have a deep-seated insecurity....email me with boob and ass shots on the other side, and I will complete the analysis (throw in a picture of your face, as well)

Pictures!!!!!   Regardless of your curriculum vitae, I don't think you should self diagnose.
Let ME offer the opinions.

On the flip side, the ppl who approach you looking to be analysed/helped, that jut feels strange sometimes.

Supportive listening whilst handcuffed...

Cuckme4Life -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 5:09:35 AM)

Sounds like my vanilla ex.  And i say this, the overanalyzing bullcrap on her part was pure insecurity along with jealousness.
Must be that vanilla ice cream as a kid!!!  And all this time i thought it was the grilled cheese sammiches. Wrong cheese brand!!!

Anyways im a slutty nut too!! Count me in!!

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 5:13:03 AM)

nope i haven't

however Daddy's a respected psychiatrist - no analyzing unless i schedule a private session like the rest of His patients

stardancer00 -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 5:16:34 AM)

Excellent topic. Thank you.  i recently met someone who is a real life psychologist and who did the over-analyzing and was very sure that he was reaching me on some deep level of understanding.  What i felt, however, was that he was actually distancing him self from really knowing me by creating a creature in his mind he had talked himself into believing was me, but was in fact, a figment of his own imagination.

Lol.  This whole thing reminds me of a run-in I had with some dude who thought he was so clever.  We had a couple of talks in which he asked me all these retarded questions, like "what would you do, if you were in a hotel, and your master let someone else come in a fuck you"  "would you fuck a dog"?  "would you fuck a woman"?  Would you do something you didn't want to do, but do it to please?" "would you this, would you that".    I basically gave the same question to every answer which was the truth--"hard to say really, it would depend on where the guy had my head, how much I wanted to please him, how devoted I felt, how deep into I was" etc etc.

After this he was like :  "hmmmm  you sound like a submissive to me, but sometimes you show signs of being a slave.  I also see a switch in you. lmaoo.  I was like a switch???  What did I say that made you think of me as a switch? and he was like "my my thats a very strong reaction, I would never answer such a question while you're in this state of mind".  You always can spot the type because they won't back up their dime-store analysis.

Nothing worse than a dom who thinks he's smarter and more analytical than he really is.  They end up sounding like total quacks trying to play shrink and it makes them look like fools.   I find it quite a turn off.

The good news is that you only have to waste about 20 or 30 minutes to know what pile they go in.

Edited to add:  I once had a short (personal) involvement with an actual psychologist and found it to be very fascinating and fun.  But it isn't comparable to online "shrink-doms".

Even if someone were a real psych in real life and comes online tossing out diagnoses to total strangers that makes him/her a lamer of the worst kind.

To give unsolicited psychiatric advice (especially while holding a valid degree in such) is totally inappropriate in this format.

It is as advisable as taking advice on fixing your computer, fixing your car, medicimal advice etc., which is best left to r/l professionals if you don't know how to do such yourself.

Besides, those that create the facade or actual identity of such doctorites rarely walk about giving real-time theories based on a conversaton with somebody lasting 20 minutes at a bus stop. One must become blase about the whole ideal of psychology outside of an doc/patient office or you would drive other people to fury over constant mental criticizm and risk being hurtful or being hurt with a blow to the jaw lol.

gypsygrl -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 6:25:23 AM)

I used to run into this some.  The first time it happened, I gave the person the benefit of the doubt just to see where things would go, thinking that maybe they were on to something. They weren't and things didn't go far.  I ended up being put off by their arrogance and the fact that we weren't really engaged in a conversation but something that was much more one sided: I would say something and rather than respond to what I said, they would deconstruct it.

Neala -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 6:38:35 AM)

BWAHAHAHA.

Yes, the entire time I was talking to the guy he kept calling me Ms. Switch. All of us slaves/submissives are switches at heart apparently. We are just too stupid to realize these things.

Yes, and after his kind analysis how dare you insult him with such questions as to why he thinks these things. Tsk, tsk.

Lol.

Well wishes!

domiguy -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 7:01:11 AM)

I have met the type...She was a psychiatrist in Chicago with a rather extensive practice.  We met over a cup of coffee, the usual small talk bullshit. The talk like it always does turned to sex and she asked me about my fantasies and what aspects of sex I enjoyed.

Well, I started talking about my kinks and likes and turn ons....And her eyes just kept getting wider and wider....I think for the twenty minutes I spoke that she never once drew a breath...About half way through my dissertation she developed some sort of a twitch....Without breaking her gaze she fluidly reached into her purse brought out some type of medication and poured the whole bottle of pills into her coffee. I continued on...As I was finishing up, I noticed that she had started pulling out clumps of her hair and was eating it....I stopped to ask if she was okay...Her mouth which had remained open virtually the whole time....Began to quiver...She was crying..She softly said, "dude, you are so fucked up."  She reached into her purse and grabbed a wad of cash to pay for her coffee, threw it on the table and was up and heading out the door.  Amongst the tangled wad of cash I could see several hundred dollar bills..... I shouted out "Call me." She abruptly spun around, pointed in my direction  and made this God awful, blood curdling scream...The coffee house was full of people, the crowd fell to a silence and the people in unison stared at the woman and the Domly man that she was pointing at....She reached the sidewalk and violently threw up...Made the sign of the cross, jumped into a cab and she was gone.

I hate people like that.

came4U -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 7:06:11 AM)

wow..ouchie.

sounds like she needs a psychiatrist!

LOL

Gods, her first day and without her textbooks?? geez, what a sissy.

Neala -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 7:09:41 AM)

littleone35 -> RE: Online Psychologist? (8/23/2007 7:20:40 AM)

As for me i took intro to psych and child and adult psych in college (Got a B in both)  I know i am not qualified to analyze anyone but myself and i know i am crazy but in a good way.  Anyone who tried to analyze me if they got into my head would run away  its scary in there lol.  The only person who knows me better then me is Master.

I haven't had the, er, pleasure I guess.

I'm baffled at the idea that people really expect a submissive to have no opinion, no self.  What, are they searching for the Buddha?

For me (YMMV, of course) effortless submission is no submission at all. While I sometimes do like to ride the tidal wave of feeling, the most intense areas of my relationship come from having strong opinions, likes and dislikes... and my Lady asking me to go places that require me to give over trust and control in those areas.

I am not a puppet, or a blow-up doll. I have a mind, and feelings, and needs, and opinions. A relationship, whether it be friendship, love, sex, pain... all these involve my real mind, feelings, needs, and opinions, as well as those of the other person in the relationship. To expect otherwise tells me a person is not looking for a relationship, they just want a canvas on which to paint their own reflection.

(Where did that soapbox come from?)
