Riot Girl; there is a Museum dedicated to the history of slavery and its aftermath; the lynchings by the Klu Klux KLan and other brutalities inflicted on black americans. As recently as WW II, blacks soliders were segregated into all-black units. I cannot remember the name of the museum or where it is located -- though i know it is down south - but you should have no trouble finding it on www.dogpile.com, the best of all search engines, in my opinion. You might also take a look at thne Center for Southern Justice -- i am sure they have website -- which seeks (amoung other things) civil damages from the KKK and other hate groups for current and past criminal activities against blacks. Also check with the Anti-Defamation League, which acts on behalf of american Jews. i'd do some of this research for you, but i am like the prior author; i simply cannot abide the imagery and descriptions of the inhumanity in the world. It crushes me until i cannot walk, and so i shield myself and offer what i can, where i can, very selectively. Finally, for information on current day slavery, you might check the United Nations' web site. pleasureforHim
