Hey everyone,
if there were a dungeon with a driving distace 45-60 minutes between Savannah, Hilton Head & Charleston, is there anyone out there who would attend?

I've never been to one, but I would definitely look into it.  Even just to check it out, see if it's something I might frequent.  Though I'm pretty sure there are plenty more in our area that would love to go.  I can think of a couple off the top of my head![:D]

To be honest, I have no idea.  I've heard rumors.  I'm new to the area so...

Would I go?  Sure.  I make the two hour drive to Atlanta to go to the dungeon there.
 
I'm sorry, but I can't help you with knowing what's in the Charleston area.  It's relatively close to Me, but I can't say that I've been up that way.

    At one point someone was working on putting together a dungeon in the Charleston area, but it fell through... for some reason the BDSM scene here seems to suffer from a lot more drama-related problems than you'd expect for the size and general laid-back nature of the area. i don't know that i'd be a regular, as we're not very exhibitionistic, but i'm sure we'd attend events from time to time.

    (40 miles from Charleston and Hilton Head... you're not going to buy that scary place in Gardens Corners that sells gas, fish & chips, and tax service, are you? [&:])

    If you end up putting something together and need help building furniture & fixtures, feel free to drop me a line... i love doing that kind of stuff.

    Not to my knowledge and I have serious doubts there will be one within city limits anytime in the near future.

    The scene here is really broken up, underground and just flat out non existant.

    There is ChaSM, a small munch group that I used to attend, but its very disorganized, very casual and very little that goes on. The last I heard they had broken up again.

    However, there is the Trident Knights, which is the local Leather Club here. They are pansexual with mostly a homosexual membership.

    Do you think with the south going to the right in the past 7 years that a dungeon could survive in the Charleston even Savannah area?

    I've noticed since I've left the south and moved West and frequently return that kink friendly places are disappearing.  Never more so than in Atlanta.

    Honestly, i think the biggest impediment to a dungeon working in this area is, as MadRabbit mentioned, the lack of an organized "scene". Charleston has always been pretty conservative (they even managed to get an adult bookstore shut down a few years ago... made a big improvement to the neighborhood, now it's an abandoned building that's quite literally falling apart), it doesn't seem to have gotten worse lately.

    Even though Greenville is equally conservative, if not more so, i can more easily imagine something working there just because SC-Lock seems much more organized, and it's a shorter trip for people to visit there from Atlanta, Charlotte, etc., whereas two hours from Charleston gets you Savannah, Myrtle Beach, Columbia, and not a whole heck of a lot else...  Savannah... donno, haven't spent much time there,  i know the KinkyInSavannah list is pretty active, but i haven't been down there in a couple years.

    Hmmm, Spoleto... it's gotta be performance-arty- i'm thinking flesh-hook suspension [:)]

    Maybe in Summerville.

    But a dungeon that is actually inside the city limits of Charleston....I seriously seriously doubt it.

    They dont call this place the "Holy City" for nothing.

    Only recently has tattooing been allowed here.

    I mean Charleston is a wild town. Ha, even the miniseries, The North and The South had a whipping scene with David Carradine, remember that? I mean I have spanked on Tradd St. downtown, Remount Rd in N. Chas, Folly Beach, Isle of Palms and many places in between.

    Yeah, maybe so. I'm kind of just saying hey to those who live in Charleston. Tis a jazzi place in my mind and definitely not nonexistent. Hey, I live in Augusta now and it ain't half bad either. Atlanta, of course speaks for itself. I really don't see the scene being diminished in any of these places.
