Insults are a bit like jokes. They just don't work when you have to explain them.

Yeah, I know ... it's funny to watch the people attempting to insult though - they get all flustered and irritated and usually end up resorting to juvenile names (like that 'doodie' you mentioned earlier LOL)

and yes, Celtic, you were apparently supposed to care about the fact that she gave you the ultimate insult by not capitalizing for you *gasp* oh no! I didn't capitalize the word "you" either ... wait, we don't care do we?

I think it is  a good thought to consider anything you do online as being reviewable by local law enforcement. Certainly illegal porn or asking to meet/see or watch anything illegal can land you in trouble. Bottom line would be don't do anything online that you wouldn't do where you live.

The thing is with taboo fantasies. Even though you don't do anything about it yourself, using online sources for those things creates a demand for  those things to be produced in the first place. So someone out there is going to go through with those things in the idea to profit. A good example is child pornography. Although majority of those who seek it haven't done anything of that sorts in real life, just that they are contributing to a demand and therefore keep it alive.

In the light of the new day and thankfully a much less inebriated one, i will say that i’m  a little (no, a LOT) disappointed in myself for getting so defensive so quickly.   i should have exercised more restraint before replying.  Hell, i shouldn’t have been posting a question (no matter how legit i STILL feel it was/is) while intoxicated.  Regardless, since i became a member here on CM and starting reading the BBS i have marveled at how people incessantly pick at each other here and to become a part of that so quickly upsets me.  From here forward, although i may take part in open discussions started by others, i shall attempt to withhold on starting any new threads, myself.  If i have a silly question to ask, i will try to save that for a local social or munch.  i’ve found the local community to be very newbie-friendly.  So to anyone i may have insulted or annoyed, i do sincerely apologize, INCLUDING celticlord.  This forum should be a place where everyone can feel safe and welcome and i do not wish to make it otherwise.

Also, to the person who was nice enough to explain what CP is, i thank you…(and NO, that is not what i was inquiring about and is in fact a strict and HARD limit of mine...NO kids, no animals, blah, blah, blah).

i would kill this thread if i thought there was any point in doing so (i believe there is a way to do so if you started the thread yourself) but i think it *does* serve to that we could all be more tolerant of one another.

Either way, i did glean a couple gems from those who took my post seriously and to those people i again say “thank you.”

And yes, i realize i'll probably be slammed even for my apology note but i'm going to step back from the keyboard, say an "ohm", and just let it go.

It take a big person to admit wrongdoing and apologize. When it's genuine that tends to get people a lot of respect around here. Everyone fucks up from time to time. But I don't know why you wouldn't post another thread. Your question was a good one and I don't believe anyone was teasing or picking on you for asking the question. The sad fact of the matter is that there is a decent amount of people who troll this site looking for wank fodder. With your post and no profile, it's not that much of a stretch to question if you were actually asking or trolling.

It wasn't a silly question at all but my advice was quite serious. If you are worried, don't rely on us or a munch. Ask a lawyer.

I doubt it. Unless you display behavior that makes people think this was just so much hot air. Either way I hope you enjoy your time on the boards and that you will ask any future questions that you have.

Apologies are rarely easy to make.  Thank you.

I've had a few nights where the whiskey did the talking....it happens.

And, with that new understanding....I'm both sorry to have said you were trolling and happy to be wrong.

No harm no foul (what's the cyberspace equivalent of extending a hand to shake?)

Sometimes even when you search for things that are legal I think you should be careful, especially nowadays.  I always worry that sometimes "people who peddle the bad kind of porn online" use creative search terms to avoid censors, and so those using the same search terms might accidently land upon their garbage. BOOM - it's in your cache.  Many of us are not meticulous (or paranoid enough) to keep squeaky clean on caches or whatever; what if you download a video file that was mislabeled and it's clearly not what you were looking for?  You delete it off your computer, but somewhere in the bowels of the thing is probably a record you downloaded it.  You might not have even wanted it!

I get paranoid sometimes digging around on youtube of all places using search terms "hot young guy tied up" -- forget it, I just say "hot guy tied up," because I don't like *that* kind of young -- disgusting!  But if people make the innocent mistake a few times and it's on their PC, I would be they're doomed if the wrong person wants them in jail.

I'm sorry, but isn't drunk posting the classic excuse for showing one's ass in public?  The OP themself pulled what I have to categorize as *the* most juvenile thing I've seen on the internet in a really long time with that brilliant rendition of  'didn't you see me disrespect you with my caps lock button off'.  Talk about running amok, smearing your turd finger on the nice walls.  You're no better than the rest of us!!!!

My take is that it was a mistake, she said it was a mistake, and she apologized.

I would hope that could be the end of the negative energy.

hard lesson to learn...personally, though i don't drink, i don't post after i've taken my meds, especially when that includes a pain pill...and from my intro to alcohol abuse class (fun fun, was studying to become a chemical dependency councelor) one of the first things to go is inhibitions...thats the thing that makes you go..hmm maybe i shouldn't send/say that...hence bar-fights...as for the picking at eachother...if it was all nice and fluffy we would get tired of it and it would quickly die out...humans thrive on drama...and then we thrive on complaining about drama...fact of life...accept it or become a hobbit...join in and you might have some fun...
