Ya know....after living in Texas and what not....ya learn a few things.

(1) Spiders no matter how small will probably kill you.

(2) Spiders are designed to slowly wipe out the human race in the south, every so slowly moving north.

The fact that they're the size of bricks doesn't help their case. That last statement might be slightly exaggerated.

So, in conclusion it is best if we kill the little critters every chance we get.

facinating hell! I could care less how there friggin eyes are arranged, you should see what one of the little buggers did to the back of my arm.

I had one bite me and give me an infection that took five surgeries and 18 months of antibiotics to cure.

He crawled in my pants and bit me on the butt when i tried to put my pants back on. Not his fault or mine either.

I still love them, still pick them up and take them out of the house.

yep....two skin grafts later my arm still doesnt look right.....never will I dont suppose unless I want to shell out big bucks for some "cosmetic procedure" that they dont feel is medically neccesary....

i'm lucky enough to never have been bitten but i'm in the south.. and we have big bugs.. i am terribly scared of spiders when i see one i scream for someone else to kill it.. when i was 16 or so a big brown one thats really fast ( i think its a brown recluse) decided to try and live in my bedroom.. it was promtly killed by my dad...

We - okay, my sub - always puts them out if he finds one in the house. Recently he came across the mother of all garden spiders in the UK, must have spanned 5" across and terrified the life out of him. I did derive a sense of enjoyment watching him pluck up the courage to put a beer glass over it - without cutting its legs off in the process. I'm just thankful he did pluck up the courage to do it - I couldn't have, especially when he described how bigs its fangs were! I likely  would have fainted had he presented it to me. It's no wonder the cats didn't take it on.

It must have been a hellish time for you both going through that. It's shocking just how much tissue damage such venomous spiders can cause and hope you are able to have something done about the scarring the wound has left.

I had no problem with spiders until one bit me.

Now they're in serious trouble if I see them. I took it a little more personally than is probably healthy.

Mikal -> RE: Spiders.... (9/1/2007 12:40:19 PM)

If I see them in the house, they die. My Dad's allergic to them (getting close to needing an epi pen), so bye-bye inky-dinky.

Mind you, if it's a bug (except a Lady Bug or a butterfly), and it's in the house... squish/splat/whatever the case may be.
