Well... since it came up again... I'll tell you what happened with my favorite Bear and my hair.... almost a 'gift of the Magi' story.

A couple of years ago I went to a pirate party.  I wanted my long hair to hang in those 'banana' curls... so I put mousse on it... lots and lots of mousse.  To my horror, my hair started breaking off by the hands full.  I had used the wrong kind!  It was from the ethnic section and was designed for courser hair than mine.  It was as if I had dried Elmer's glue into my hair.  I have been fretting over trying to 'grow out' all this breakage ever since.

Then I met Bear... A switch who's deep dark wish was to cut my hair and make a whip out of the pony tail.  hmmmm.... Not going to happen.  But I did something that I have not done in over 15 years.  I went to a salon.  I got my hair cut.  As mentioned by Lockit, I asked to have about 4 inches cut and to layer it just a bit so it would look like all those broken 'layers' were intentional.  She cut off almost 8 inches in some parts... 2 to 4 inches at a time.  My hair went from butt length to elbow length very quickly.  I hated it at the time... but I'm over it.  At least it looks thick and not 'straggly' anymore.

I then made some excusses and got down on my hands and knees and collected up all the cut hair into a zip lock baggy.  I took the clippings home and started glueing them to a long piece of ribbon.  I wrapped the ribbon around a dowel rod and glued leather bits from my last corset around the 'handle'.  The result was not so much a 'whip' as a very odd 'paint brush' made of human hair.  MY hair.  From my first hair cut in over a decade. 

This went into a 'goodie box' and was shipped to my Bear for Christmas.  Not exactly what he wanted... but as close as I could get.  At least it was a unique gift to tickel his fancy... or whatever else he wants to tickle with it.

You could get that thrill every day unless you really need to do something immediately after that thrill?

As long as you don't cross a professional line and do a good job, where would be the harm?

Locks of Love. But they'll only accept volunteers with state licenses (my neighbor's fiance is a hairdresser and does this). They have to collect the hair in a certain way and make sure the donor isn't scalped. And not to downplay your fetish, they may be a bit leery about someone who gets too excited about their job, if you know what I mean.
