Just a question for the masses...How old is too old?  Do you think when you get to a certain age you should no longer look?  Is to old 60, 65, 70?  I look at the majority of people who post and they are probably in the their 30's & 40's.
As you probably guessed by now I am at that threshold.  60 to be exact.  I don't feel 60, I don't look 60...but that stigma is there...should I stop looking for that special woman who wants to own me?

If you're going to be self-defeating about it, sure. If you have the strength to go looking, no. If it intimidates you too much, then stop - there's no use torturing yourself. Lots of people, however, prefer partners older than they.

One hint though, and it may just be one of my own quirks, putting "am 60 but look 40" really turns me off.

I know people on both sides of the / that are in their 70's  Some of them very active, and many of them searching for relationships, although granted they are usually looking for a relationship to replace for lack of a better word, their former one after the death of their former partner.

A 60 year old has every right to be as happy as a 30 year old. If you don't believe that, then you are too old.

Oh sweetie...don't let your age stop you!  I can imagine there are plenty of 50+ year old Dommes who wouldn't think twice about your age, and plenty younger than that wouldn't consider it an issue.

Then again if your 'ideal woman' is in her 20's...you might want to reconsider things :P

Some of THE sweetest relationships I have EVER seen were an older man with his sweetheart...there's something about that age where it's not just about sex or passion, but about a genuine love of your partner, and true commitment (til death do you part and all)....if anything I think you should enjoy your 'golden years' with a woman who truly cares for you, and who you care for as well.

There is no such thing.

Forget about "stigma" and do what you need to do to be happy.  My Master and I met and entered into our wonderful relationship about six months before He turned 60.  He doesn't feel or look 60 either.  He's in great health, very active in things like camping and hiking and I'd put His intellect up against anyone's.  Just because He's 60 doesn't mean He shouldn't enjoy life and it doesn't mean that for you either.  Maybe you'll do as He did and find someone over 25 years younger than you to live it up with during the "twilight" years.  Good luck................luci

It is a moving target. Best expressed  - "too old" is the day after you've died.

Up until that day - you either keep trying or live as if you are "too old". When you get to that point your existence becomes a matter of waiting for your body to catch up with the idea you've already accepted emotionally and mentally. I trust you feel that would be a terrible a waste of life.

Might as well ask how old is too old to love.

Consider that if you were already in a relationship, would you expect to get thrown out at any of those ages?

I'd hope not.

If you wouldn't be retired from such a relationship, you shouldn't be feeling too old to look.

Best of luck to you, and let us know when you've found what you seek.

I always love happy-ever-after endings.

We're 61 and actively looking for both male and female slaves... we both expect to be active in bdsm for another 20 years, one of the most creative and interesting Dommes we have known was in her very late 70's when we meet her at a local Dungeon.

As a sub male nearing retirement you have a lot to offer many Dommes, as long as you are healthy, driven, able to adapt and commit to her needs we'd say keep looking..

good luck

Bill and Iris

why should there be a mandatory age limit in BDSM?  if you feel that people who are in their 60s and 70s should, then that's your own opinion.  i think it's wonderful to see a person who's in their 60s still enjoying the lifestyle as if they were 30.

just remember it has been recently report people in this age group are having sex more than people in my age group - so go figure.

My would-be slave (yes, mine!) says he is 67. I think its more like 76, but there we go. I'm heading towards 40.

Its never going to be what I want - a proper relationship, but he has huge advantages over his younger competitors in that he knows exactly what he's doing, what he wants and so on - it makes things so much easier! If he were twenty years younger, it'd be on for sure, and the only reason I cant see it being what I want is not his age so much, but the age difference - we have very little timeframe in common, and I do like to be able to share things, even with a slave!

In the meantime we're both having fun and getting what we each want. My only concern really on that front is his health and not causing him injury because of his age, but thats something we've discussed and so far so good.

Though not into the lifestyle as far as I know lol, my Dad is 69 and still dates alot. He still dates women not much older then me and I'm his youngest.

I'd personally never give up. Not in my nature, might take a break for a while but never really stop looking. You never know when you are going to find that person that will fulfill that part of your life again. Heck people in retirement homes still get married *S*

Personally, I wouldn't consider a girl over 26.  But, then again, I just turned 21.

I was thinking about it today, actually.  I see the freshmen on dorms- they're 18 and 19, for the most part- and they look like kids to me.  I keep having to stop myself from wondering, "What are these kids doing in the dorms?"  So I guess eyes really do change with age- I can still remember being sixteen, seeing 18-year olds as significantly older people.

Still, I'm more interested in people my own age.  Others share a similar interest.  Some what younger partners.  And, yes, some want older partners.  And some just don't care either way- it's not one of the aspects that they're concerned with.

So, hey, there's probably someone out there for ya.

In Atlanta, Mr. Puckett topped until his death at almost 90.

Some say it's like a sport and when you can no longer do the sport then you stop.  I guess that COULD apply to those who treat BDSM as such.

Yet BDSM is a lifestyle and an energy to many of us so I don't think you ever stop.  There might be some physical things you can't do anymore but the power dynamic can always be there.
