Status: offline 		Bah... if only gun-owning maniacs stopped shooting, the gun-shot fatalities in America would SHOOT down. Surprise, surprise: the coffin companies would go down at the same rate.

Perhaps it's the funeral industry that's making a real racket out of this shit.

Status: offline 		We defintally contribute to that. I believe we have 30 firearms and about 7,000 rounds of various amo. My hubby loves target shooting, but if need be we can defend our home.I doubt any one would invaid but nothing is impossible

If people own guns for self-defense... why do they go on about having fifty firearms in their home?

I mean... how many fucking hands do they have?!!! 

And what if there's a burglary in their home? WHO gets those lovely weapons?

p.s.  What amuses me are all the gun people who think their gun will somehow protect them when something happens.  I had a friend ask me whether all my self defense training would work against his .45.  Asked him where his .45 was, he said at home.  I told him to run home to get it and I would wait for him.  I think he got my point.

We don't need all of them for home defense. There is more to get out of owning a fire arm than self defense. We enjoy target shooting, hunting, and the art of gun smithing. Having a vast array makes target shooting that much funner.Not to mention there is a wider range of animals you can hunt. you use differnt guns fir hunting differnt things. With government in this country gaining more and more control with things like the real id act ext. I wouldn't be surprised if the US sees another civil war or revolt iin my life  time.

If we get robbed, They are gonna have a hell of a time getting to steal our guns as we have a dead bolt on our bedroom door , nice gunsafes that are not easy to break into and they are bolted down. Mind you kicking our bedroom door down wouldn't take long long, but trying to pry the safe open would be fruitless. Ripping it from the wall would also be a challenge. And I pretty sure my neibors would notice some random guys carrying a 500lbs gun safe out my door and would call the police.

Well if he had a conceled carry licence I don't think he would have that problem. He has the right to protect his gift of life he choices to use a firearm to do so, you may not.

Perhaps that is a common generalization of target shooters. I've never target shot anywhere but a shooting a range. And my husband participates in compitions.

Sighing... because if you ask for evidence, it means you are blind to it: it's all around you. That little thread alone will tell you more than I am able to at this point. Evidence about America being violent? It's all over the news. The statistics abound.

As for finding evidence America is paranoid... well, I'm not a sociologist: but I think it's pretty obvious when people feel they need to be armed against their own government that something is seriously wrong here.
