ok  seems to me there are as many " right" ways to remove a collar as there are to bestow one .... I am a very formal person so like a formal collaring ceremony ... and think a formal removal ceremony would be ideal if it were removed for mutually agreed on reasons .. relocation.. family issues etc...

I would like to think that even if I removed it for other reasons .. that I would be civilized about it and not do it in anger.  Even in this instance if the Submissive wanted closer of a formal ceremone I would do that ... I think it would help both of us in the long run... Help me get past my disappointment in them .....

LOL! I agree. I went out of state to pick up a slave for 2 weeks as a trial run.  Turned out he wasn't really a slave and we mutually agreed it wasn't going to work.  When I got him, I made him a collar.  When he was returned home, I got it back, because he really didn't earn it.  I have retired it.  For a sub or slave of mine that shows the sincerity, maturity and dedication to stick with me for regular training, I will make each their own leather service collar. I may even be moved to make a matching set of restraints and a harness.  I just like investing the time and effort into crafting it for them and making each one unique, like the men that will be wearing them. Right now, my feeling is that it should be returned at the end of a relationship.  Unfortunately, I have not yet had the pleasure of making another collar for one who would be mine.  I'm looking forward to, though! [:)]
