Ok here is the question. You are talking to a potential Dom/Master or sub/slave you seem to relay click. What is your limit as to how long you would wait for them to agree to a face to face meeting before saying hit the road jack or Jackie?

People tend to wait too long, and I don't understand why. OK, I can see waiting for a few conversations to see how you interact with the person, but after a while you have to meet him or her in the flesh. I've heard too many stories of people who talked to each other for months and months only to find that, with all the pent-up stress and anticipation, the first meeting was a total flop.

I don't have a specific time, usually wait untill it feels right. And sometimes you can't help that its ages till you meet - its just the way it works out.

We met in person 10 days from first contact. We did a lot more than 'click' about 2 hours later. Together 4 1/2 years - married one year ago once the 17th of the month gets here. quote: People tend to wait too long, and I don't understand why. Fast enough L&M?

Long enough to find out if there are any major conflicts of interest. Not so long to lose any spark that might be there.

I don't have a timeframe set out, but it usually ends up being a couple of months. I am usually extremely nervous about these types of meetings and I always think that if I talk to the guy just a little bit longer before meeting, it will somehow be easier, but it's not. I reach a point where I just feel "ready" for better or worse and I step out and do it. Outside of the fact that I'm usually tongue-tied and blushing, I can't say I've ever had a bad meet with anyone. Even those with whom a relationship didn't blossom, I had a few laughs, a good time and still talk to a few of them as friends.

~fr~ I agree with LaM that people wait too long. I now feel that it's case dependent and success depends on so many other variables that the amount of time spent before meeting doesn't really matter. I've made quick commitments (like the current one) that have gone very well, and, on the other side, stretched the "getting to know you" process over periods of 3-5 months with end results that could only be described as hellish. But that's me. Bob

For me, I'm a "the-sooner-the-better" type but, distance plays a factor in it. If we live within an hour's drive of each other and can't manage to meet within a week or two, I can't be bothered wasting any more time. I have no set-out time schedule but, it's got to be fairly quickly because people can "hide" so many things in text and even on the phone but, rarely can they look the other person directly in the eye and get away with anything. If they are local, I see no reason why we can't meet within a couple of weeks. If they are long-distance, I give them more time, but never more than 90 days. Lady Topaz

But we agree with the majority of the previous comments if they are close by and they can not even meet you in a public place for a face to face in the first week or two, they are most likely never going to meet you and they are just yanking your string!
