*tuts*

You missed some lol.
Kate Bush
Debbie Harry
Madonna (maybe not the best vocalist but she sure knows her music)

Hi misst. Yeah, I left a bunch out, hell, I'd have ten threads going if I tried to list them all. [X(]

All 3 that you listed are terrific and would have fit in the polls.

lighthearted -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:10:38 PM)

tough choice between Annie and Karen, but in the end I think Karen Carpenter's voice had a bit more, I don't know, smoothness to it.

JerseyKrissi72 -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:21:00 PM)

I always loved Karen Carpenter

LeMis -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:26:59 PM)

Karen Carpenter.

sapphirepleasure -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:32:53 PM)

You forgot to put Etta James in the voting list so I voted for Karen Carpenter.

Level -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:35:13 PM)

Crap............. okay, I'll put Etta in the Round 4 thread, she deserves votes for sure. Who else did I miss.... Gladys Knight....... she goes in Round 4 too.

bandit25 -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:40:50 PM)

Tori and Bette in Round 2

Estring -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:41:51 PM)

If we are talking about great vocalists, sorry but Madonna? Please. She can barely sing.
For vocal ability how about Billie Holliday, Sara Vaughn, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Reba McIntyre, Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin, and probably quite a few opera singers that would qualify as well.

Level -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:43:05 PM)

Good choices, E, Lennox is in one of the other threads, but the rest, good ones to include.

Estring -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 5:48:36 PM)

Damn, almost forgot one of the best rock singers ever. Chrissy Hynde.

Level -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 8:28:10 PM)

Karen Carpenter holds a 1  vote lead over Grace Slick so far.

lacenleathergirl -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 8:31:47 PM)

How about Stevie Nicks and Barbra Streisand?  Are they in another thread?

Level -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 8:36:28 PM)

They are. [:D]

AlexanderC -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 9:41:56 PM)

Why no classic blues/jazz types? Billie Hoday could humble the lot of them in less than twelve bars. Dito for Nina Simone.

Lol. You really think people who are nominating the likes of Madonna are going to even know who Billie Holiday or Nina Simone are?

SusanofO -> RE: Greatest female vocalist Group 3 of 3 (9/2/2007 10:58:15 PM)

As far as pure quality of voice, I go with Karen Carpenter.

- Susan
