sigh.. ok I guess I'll have to spoon feed this thread to get it going.

I avoid under 30's because:

They need to take their lumps to pay their dues, just like the over 30's have done.

So Bita started her thread as a welcoming space to encourage discussion and sharing perspectives.

You start your thread just to explain exactly why you avoid a particular group of people- and to encourage others to agree and support you?

They seem to be too much into S and M (Stand and Model).  Just because you look the part and make the noises that sound like the part, doesn't mean you ARE the part.

See that sets up a great "damned if you do, damned if you don't" model there.  If you DO look and sound the part- well you're just playing around.  If you DON'T look and sound the part, you're not even clueful enough to fake it.

I dislike that people look down so much on Stand and Model.  I think it's a great kink to enjoy and in no way prevents someone from being a "serious player."

I'm always willing to answer questions from the under 30's, but hesitant to go into details.  Responsibility for a scene does not end at the turning out of the light in the dungeon at the end of the evening.  A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Over 30's that have been in this for any length of time see patterns.  We can pretty well predict where a respective "journey" is going to leave them.  They don't want to hear any insights because "well.. they're different!".  OOOOOOOOOkay- so sue us if we don't enjoy watching train wrecks.

A wonderful saying is:  "If you want to know what lies on the road ahead, ask those coming back."

I have seen no evidence to suggest that those experiences and observations occur with any less frequency in over 30s.  Certainly not here on collarme when you get over 40 somethings every other week going "woe is me."

Hmmmm I am almost 31, does that mean I should post here and not the other thread? I don't have any issues with those under 30, I was there not that long ago myself...feeling all angsty n stuff, where do I fit?

No- I started it to hopefully get the 0vers off of the Under 30's thread when I saw that the Overs took more fun in joking about it all, I went out on a limb and posted my thoughts.  You have to present a premise so a discussion can begin, you know.   Nowhere do I solicit anyone to agree or support me.

Now back.. BACK to the UNDER 30's thread with you!  LOL.

amelliagrace -> RE: Invite to the OVER 30's Crowd (9/6/2007 10:52:10 AM)

I'm 45.  When you are at peace with yourself, whatever age you are is the perfect age to be.  Attitude is everything.  Age?  Whether it is an asset of a liability is determined entirely by attitude, degree of inner peace, zest with which exploration of self and learning are embraced.

So is this the place to discuss this myth about men over 30 being past their sexual prime?

Seems so.  AWESOME subject for discussion, I might add.

As a 45 yo, I tend to enjoy the company of younger people because they bitch and moan less, then are less narrow minded, and more open to learning new things. Instead of thinking they know everything and everyone should kiss their ass.

Age, in numbers, means nothing to me. If it meant wisdom and something worthy of respect then there are a few more people I know that I would respect, but I don't. Their life choices and their attitudes make them people to avoid and the only productive thing I can think of learning from them is what NOT to do.

Even on these forum boards I see a really shitty attitude from some people my age and older. These are people I would not have any interest in spending time with. The sad part is that they probably do have something they could teach but their crappy attitude keeps people from respecting that and wanting to learn anything from them.

And yet, most didn't take this thread anymore serious then they did the other. Interesting, isn't it?

By the way, you might want to take the plastic covers off the furniture in here. It's just so retro, you know.

Thanks Celtic; I think I'll just use more elbow grease.  It might hurt the receiver, but...well, they shouldn't have bent over ;)

inching closer towards 40 and i still can pass for a 25yr old ....oh yeah i attract more younger men in the 20something age range than the 20somethins themselves

LaTigresse -> RE: Invite to the OVER 30's Crowd (9/6/2007 11:36:32 AM)

Spoken like a person that has never lived outside the box Latex.

If I remember correctly we have butted heads over this issue before. You are stuck in your thought process and refuse to even acknowledge that there might be a different thought that, while it is not your way, it could be correct. Personally, I don't give a rat's ass if you want to believe that you are an all knowing, all seeing, wizard when you are 100. If you can convince others of the same, good for you. I don't care if you agree with me or not. If you want to be an uptight rigid old man all the kids avoid, be my guest.

I do like to live outside the box, more importantly I try to THINK outside the box, and look at each person as an individual not as a label someone that doesn't know them, has placed on them. If that upsets your equalibrium, that would be your problem, not mine.

My way works for ME. I get along well with people of ALL ages as long as they don't run around with a cob stuck too far up their ass.....unless of course it is their kink and they don't try to convince me it is mine......

Now if that makes me artsy fartsy ( though I am not feeling particularly gassy at the moment) even though I have a very NONE artsy job, well then okay. Slap that label on me if it floats your boat. Again, I don't care. It's your thing......I refuse to allow you to make it my thing.

I won't even make fun of funny looking guys wearing plastic clothes and a goofy looking hat.........even though I think its pretty rediculous. Whatever floats your boat.

As far as re-living. Well, don't remember my past lives so I don't know what I missed. But I am having a whole lotta fun living this one.

PLEEEEAAAAASE.... I *so*  wish I could still be in under 30 thread if we go this way.... please let me in, I'm only 32!!!!

LaMistressa -> RE: Invite to the OVER 30's Crowd (9/6/2007 12:04:01 PM)

Hmmm. I'm 44, but I usually get along better and am more interested in younger partners because of their optimistic attitude (in general - not all are this way), and their energy. If I disagree with what someone says (or if I think they are mistaken), I simply disagree with them, I don't attribute it to their age. I was stupid as hell when I was in my early 20s, so I do think most younger people are smarter than I was then. Maybe I'm just setting the bar too low!

All I know is, if those damn kids leave their toys on my yard, I'm keeping them!

spiral23 -> RE: Invite to the OVER 30's Crowd (9/6/2007 12:06:35 PM)

i just wish i discovered this stuff when i was younger....would of saved lots of years trying to hold down my kinkiness down with vanilla gf's..i know that many younger kinksters have much more expeirence than i do...and im fine with that...im getting the thrill of discovery now...

favesclava -> RE: Invite to the OVER 30's Crowd (9/6/2007 12:08:11 PM)

the other day i stopped at my 23 yo daughters place on my way to a club. there was a crowd of young people ranging from 16 to early twenties. when i got out of the car my daughter announced to all this is my mom everybody. everybody turned and all the men eyes widened and some one yelled out MILF. no one looked at the young girls while i was there and according to my kid i was the subject of male conversation till the wee hours.
I am a proud 42 year old. you can keep 20 and 30. besides i like the Daddy figure best.

CuriousLord -> RE: Invite to the OVER 30's Crowd (9/6/2007 12:32:27 PM)

So.. um...  ..how old do you need to be before you start needing Viagra?

I mean, in one way, it'd be a pain finicially and to one'e ego.  In another, it'd could be sort of nice to not walk around with unnecessarily tight pants pointing ahead all of the time.
