Thank you for that, KMsAngel. They do sound a really good dog with a level temperament. I've read that they are classified as a working dog, so wondered how they deal with family life and the lack of a structured and disciplined environment which is what a working dog is used to.

oddly enough, i took him to the special kids unit in the grade school when he was a middling puppy, and the kids there adored him. when he got bigger (and mine particularly looked vy much like a bear) the littlies still adored him and weren't afraid, but older kids - particularly those who would have been a threat to my young teenage girls, would cross to the other side of the street when they saw him, lol..
