One of the local news stations in the area has an 11 question quiz which shows you which presidential candidate's views are most like your own.  It was kind of interesting.

Joe Biden, huh........ [8|]

Good link, addison.

I was a bit surprised to see the second "best" candidate for me is Sam Brownback, then the next 7 were Dems, led by Kucinich.

addisonclarkgirl -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/9/2007 7:40:25 PM)

Kucinich was my top man, but he was tied with Edwards.  i knew i was a Democrat, but i've been thinking all along, i would vote for Obama.  It was very interesting to see.

Level -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/9/2007 7:44:06 PM)

Obama is a good candidate, I believe, and I can see me voting for him. I wonder how it would have turned out if Gore were available?

SugarMyChurro -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/9/2007 8:08:34 PM)

Dennis Kucinich

Rudy.  Knew that without taking a quiz.

defiantbadgirl -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/9/2007 8:25:48 PM)

I took the quiz and every one of the canidates disagreed with me on companies having to pay a penalty for hiring illegal immigrants. If there had been a question on there about outsourcing, I'm sure they would have all disagreed with me on that too. I want a president that wants to put a stop to NAFTA.

FangsNfeet -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/9/2007 8:36:37 PM)

It takes more than a little letter by your name to get my vote. r, d, whatever. All I can do is look at what each canidate is saying now and what they have said in the past. I can then examine past actions and decide which person is the less of the two evils.

Al Gore is an example of saying things differently now than in the past. For the 1992 presidental election, Gore had a debate with Dan Qual. Most of the debate was about forigen policy versus domestic care. Qual continue to brag about his performance about forigen policy. Gore continued to come back with "What about domestic policy?"

In 2000, Al Gore braged mostly about how he and the administration he was under, had done more dealings in forigen policy than any other administration before him. Why did Gore deal so much in forigen affairs when his direction during a campaign point towards doing more domestic care and have less forigen issues to deal with? His actions of not remembering who he was in 1992 screwed him in not getting my vote. My not voteing for Gore had nothing to do with him being a democrat. It had to do with Gore having a resume of all forigen policy after he vowed to make domestic issues his main priority.

DBG: The anti NAFTA candidate is Ron Paul. He's also the one who topped my results.

slaverosebeauty -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/9/2007 9:00:17 PM)

I think I am going to be sick now. I would NEVER vote for this guy, Hell hasn't frozen over yet. And DAMN he is a Republican; worse than a repub, a mormon [sorry to those who are lds on the boards, we all have our views]. Why isn't Thompson on this list yet?? I plan on voting for him.

awmslave -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/9/2007 11:42:22 PM)

Mike Gravel was on top with 26 points. I would not be a good American. Looking at US it is hard to understand why are there no independent candidates?. More than half of the registered votes identify as independents while democrats and republicans taken together are less than 40%. The fundamentally flawed idea fed to useful idiots that only dem or republican nominee can win is working.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/10/2007 12:18:37 AM)

Biden, Clinton, Obama, and Edwards all tied with 32 as my top one.  I wouldn't vote for any of them, but this quiz is a little too simple to make that determination.  Oddly enough; the two candidates I like the most were at the bottom, Huckabee and Paul.  I am voting for Paul in the primaries, but I do like Huckabee for his honesty.  I disagree with Huckabee on a lot of things, but he actually was a good governor for this state.  He got more done during his time in office than Clinton ever did in this state.

SusanofO -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/10/2007 12:50:34 AM)

Well it looks like I should vote for either Chris Dodd (55) or Barack Obama (50), or Hillary Clinton (50), or Dennis Kucinich (45).

That was my curiousity as well...*crosses fingers that he'll throw himself in the running last minute*

Biden - 43, Dodds - 41, Obama and Clinton - 38.

CuriousLord -> RE: Who Should You Vote For? (9/10/2007 7:06:04 AM)

Ron Paul:  32.

Just.. one thing that irks me.  The "line item veto" is actually up for consideration?  Oh Karana.  That'd give the President soo much power..

Surprisingly enough it's pretty accurate :

Ron Paul - 27

Tom Tamcredo - 27

Mike Gravel - 26

Dennis Kucinich - 25

Ron Paul is hands down my first pick and Mike Gravel would be the substitute choice.

Senator McCain with a score of 46. Funny, I'd rather gnaw off the rest of my fingers.

I suppose I can understand you not liking someone's religion.  Sort of.  (Seems like an odd thing to be up in arms about- as long as their religion doesn't interefere with their job, why bother?)  But.. why care at all about if they're a "Republican"?  Or a "Democrat"?  If you share a lot of the views with them (and it appears so, as I think that website worked off a weighted-average type system), isn't this what matters?
