As far as i know it just mimics the sensation of drowning, maybe that in itself could induce a heart attack in someone as the panic sets in ?

Its not out of touch to not know what it is at all.  I had to be the facilitator for a mock un session where we rewrote the 3rd article of the Geneva Convention.  That is the one that gets in to torture etc.

Mistress Sassy,
I think you have waterboarding confused with swirlies!

waterboarding: it's risky because you're using their weight to hold them in the water. A better way might be to do the old "towel over the head and pour water in their face" trick from college. Same basic effect of inducing panic, but the stress is holding the towel on the head and not in keeping them out of the water.

offensive language: apologies - I was trying to use the humor of the movie to eventually tie in Maynard, Zed and the gimp from Pulp Fiction: that's the sort of level of tension you're going for in a "cinematic" scene... something that'd make Ving Rhames look scared.

swirlies: actually, that'd work too. You have the "ew" factor going as well... throw in some bananas in the bowl and flush their head while blindfolded... ahh, good times.

Hmmm, I think once you add chunks it is called the royal flush.  Least that what I remember my brothers discussing in fear.

If we're talking a swirlie with bananas added, wouldn't that actually be a banana float of some kind?  Then again, I suppose if you swirled things fast enough, you could make a banana shake and there'd be no need to go to the DQ!

Is this turning into a food thread instead of an interrogation thread?  Or are we all surfing with cloudboy instead?

Tell me the answer or I'll squeeze that gonad tighter and add two pounds of weight to the other said the Mistress to the subbie!

Actually, if you look at the link for waterboarding, that's apparently what it is- holding the person on a sloping board, covering their face with cloth or plastic, and pouring water over them... i had also thought it involved dipping their head into the water while they were set up on a see-saw type device, which i have seen done, but requires a lot of space and hardware setup... i'm not sure why the towel-over-the-face technique really requires a board... it can be done just as well with the subject's head bent over the back of a chair, which also adds the element of stress on the throat.

As far as i know, swirlies are still A-OK... Best way i know of to make sure that your subbies clean the toilets regularly

I've had the "swirlie" done to me before - took a little while to get used to it because it is very hard to breathe as the water is moving forcefully around your head.  The pressure can take the air out and that makes it worse.  It's a pretty good torture though.........especially if someone pissed in the bowl before!!

My apologies for late responding.  Thankyou to everyone for your advice
I have a really good excuse now to watch lots of bondage movies with this kind of scene in all in the name of research
