Hmmmm, I don't own a car when I need to drive I use a flex car - a car share/subscription.  I reserve the neighborhood car  go get it ( ashort walk, bike or bus ride away), drive it (all insurance, gas and repairs are included in my $9 hourly fee) and then return it when my time is up. I usually get the hybrid but there is a choice of other vehicles parked throughout the neighborhood like sedans, trucks and vans and such........what does that make me? In my opinion it makes me quirky and an environmentalist. That's not me in the pic btw.

Same here! I'm a Domme who either takes the Metro (God help me), or uses Zipcar (my faves are the Honda Element or the Scion Xb.) I *love* carsharing!

omg where do you people get the money for all these vehicles...is this the reward ya'll get for not killing yourself with the stupid shit you do as young adults?

Kinda depends where you live, but older vehicles that aren't running can be surprisingly cheap... if they aren't running, you don't need to register or insure them, so the initial investment is quite low... That's why i've gotten into bikes lately, i've got a little over $2000 invested in four of them put together, and they take up less space than a car. And it's a LOT easier to push a non-running motorcycle than a non-running hearse!
Somebody i know online collects old fire trucks- they have somewhere in the range of 40 or 50 of them. They say vintage fire trucks are surprisingly inexpensive to buy, but STORING them... that's another story! [:D]

InkedMaster -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 5:13:53 AM)

Harley Davidson FLSTC and yes it's the only vehicle I own.

Cheers ! Great post............... Even if the Dom was driving a Yugo the one necessity that would never be over - looked would be leather interior .

TreasureKY -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 7:50:56 AM)

lol... I'm not sure what to think of your assessments.

FirmhandKY drives an Explorer... which I think would put him into the "manly, cool dom" category.  That fits perfectly.  [:D]

I, however, drive a sexy convertible.  I suppose I'm obviously not worthy by your list.  Do you think it might symbolize the desire to be open... or maybe just topless?  [;)]

Yeah unless you are America's strongest man I wouldn't advise trying to move one by hand (hearse that is) lol
I'm gonna regret asking this.....but who has the fire trucks??? I've always wanted one [:D]

LaTigresse -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 8:10:36 AM)

Kinda silly assumptions and I don't think either of my vehicles fit.

2003 Chevy Prism with 214,000+ miles on it. Uses oil but still runs like a top. I drive it because it was an inexpensive car when I bought it brand new and it is economical to drive given the amount of miles I drive.

1996 Dodge 4x4 Extended Cab Ram Pickup with 60,000 miles on it. I have it for pulling the horse trailer or serious road trips. I would love to drive it all the time but she's a thirsty batich.

And yes, I too will be buying a new car this next year. I am trying to wait until spring or late winter. Unless something else comes along and impresses me a hell of a lot, I will be buying a Mazda Speed3 5 door, black with leather interiour and a stick shift because it gets better gas milage and handles better on slippery roads. annnnnnnnnd zoom zoom ZOOM!

camille65 -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 8:21:04 AM)

It might be silly, but it is fun.
I have an 02 Mercury Mountaineer all wheel drive, I live in the boondocks of snow country so I need that if I want food during the winter months. The gas mileage is crap though.
In the garage I have a mini-bike [:D] and a non-running Honda 550, it is non-running only because it is too big for me!
My favorite car was a cute Geo Tracker soft top 4X4, that was a blast to drive! I gave it to a nephew and within 3 months he blew the engine [&:] .

teamnoir -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 9:15:05 AM)

Hm. I drive a fuel efficient ancient Honda and also a race replica, (still 40mpg), motorcycle, (suzuki gxsr 1000). Both black.

What does that say, I wonder?

hehe had to look at the profile to confirm but I figured right, you don't live where there is snow *S*

We're lucky to get 3-4 months of rideable weather [&o]

silentsubby -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 9:22:56 AM)

Dom has a 75 Ramcharger... 65 Harley FLH... 06 GMC Sierra...and is purchasing a new Harley within the next week.... the subbie (big smile) drives a 2000 Monte Carlo that is currently forsale as she wants the Sierra from Sir.

Cuffkinks -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 9:48:09 AM)

I remember back in the 80's...A friend of mine pulled up to My house with his brand new Corvette. He was going on and on about..."It has this...It does that..." I was just standing there shaking my head and chuckling. He said..."What's so funny?"
I said..."Man...You must have one little dick!"

I drive a 2007 Kia Sorrento, midsize SUV. Just bought it about a month ago. I don't know if it's the most "Domly" vehicle out there, but it does have black leather interior. Does that count?
I also ride a 2001 Harley Davidson Softail, so who knows where I fit in.
Then again...Who wants to "fit in" anyway?[sm=sodoff.gif]

Is it true that:

1. Pretentious Doms drive luxury import cars.

2. Manly, cool Doms, like topcat, drive pickups.

3. Worthy subs drive hybrids and compacts or ride scooters.

4. Sportscars are a sign of BDSM insecurity behind a mask of bravado.

5. Domme's who like strap on play typically drive stick-shift.

6. Poly folk prefer to ride trains when possible.

---------

What does the car signify to you or about you?

lol. Troll.

It could be said that people who drive import luxury cars *gasp* like them and can afford them.

I drive an 11 year old Honda with a manual transmission because when I needed a car to replace what I could no longer afford, that's what I got. 258k miles and still runs perfectly. Gotta love Honda. Personally, I love being in control of the gears... and would go so far as to consider anybody who can't drive a stick to be sorely missing out.

Sports cars are fun - but I suppose you'd have to assess which sports cars are awesome and worth owning.. and which ones are junk (Corvettes, a GM product just like the POS Camaro).  An Infiniti G-35? *drool*

BootBlackBlast -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 10:26:30 AM)

At one point in time or another I've owned many of those vehicles.

Right now, I drive a 2005 Scion xA RS 1.0 The RS is a special edition release series that comes out in limited numbers each year. I got that one because it was only $2000 more and it came with a factory installed moonroof (not available otherwise from Scion), Custom wheels, low profile Yokohamas, spoiler, custom grill, and was the only way I could get the FIRE ENGINE RED color. It says lots about me, I like attention, to go fast enough off the lot, but available and easily upgraded, like the wind in my air, and don't want to pay a lot for gas. It gets between 30 and 40 mpg.

I used to have a 1966 Ford Mustang Hard Top in Cream over Maroon with black leather interior in show condition. Bought it for $1 from my godmother on my 16th birthday. I had worked off the rest of the money the two years prior watching her daughter after school. Lent it to my best friends brother Jeremy, when said best friend Phillip had wrecked Jeremy's truck. Jeremy got t-boned on the way home from work when a drunk ran a redlight. Car is on blocks in NY awaiting a rebuild.

My first car was a 1988 Nissan Sentra 4 door. I loved that car. Growing up a grease monkey I was dissapointed when I first got her, but she did everything I could have asked her to do, including take the entire cheerleading squad for ice cream. 8 cheerleaders plus me in the car, it was nuts.

I've also had a 1995 Hyundai Sonata, a 2002 Suzuki Vitara (saved my life), 1982 Jeep CJ-7 that I rebuilt and made into mainly an off road toy, and my favorite was the 2001 Geo Tracker Soft-Top. That thing went 375,000 miles before the transfer case and tranny went out on me shifting into 4 wheel on a snowy road at home in upstate NY.

I once had a Harley Softail but had to sell it to go to school. Now, it's time to buy a beater and get used to city bike driving and living in SF I can't afford a Harley now, but someday...

NICouple -> RE: Cars and BDSM (9/14/2007 11:53:19 AM)

1999 Subaru Forester AWD with gun rack on left rear window. 1000 channel Scanner, GPS, Scanning CB, tinted windows. 3 antenna's (at the moment) 27 feet of exposed wireing on the dash. 1400 watt after market power inverter. kinda dull silverish.

ok, maybe too many toys?

A couple known as Hewy & Ruth own the fire trucks (and a BUNCH of other stuff)... they live out in Cali, pretty active in the PCS and Phantom Coaches, last i heard. Never met them in person, but they seem like cool folks.

i've actually pushed our combo, but it was on level, smooth ground... The trick is to not use your arms, just put your lower back against the car and push with your legs. On gravel... not a chance!

The things you learn from old cars [:-]

Sexy convertible for a sexy woman.  That one's easy. [:)]

I tend to drive big engined, massive, 4 or AWD vehicles, as I hate to come out the "loser" in a vehicle to vehicle confrontation, or to not be able to take off across the fields, or go up the snowy hill whenever I want (or to drive across dividers, parking lot concrete dividers, grass strips, small to medium size creeks and streams, mud holes, etc, etc, etc).

But perhaps my favorite reason for that kind of vehicle is that they are really neat for driving across adjoining business lots in cities, where the traffic makes it difficult to get out onto the main road and there's no access from one lot to the neighboring lot.

Inconsiderate bastards.

Screw em.   I just leave tread marks when I make my own path.
