There is no Dominance without submission, and there is no submission without Dominance. It is a "gift" we give each other and an equal exchange of power, therefore, cancelling each other out. It is a symbiotic relationship and the only "gift" I see is the talent (for lack of a better word) one has in either Dominance or submission.

Im almost sorry that I posted this thread on my random thoughts. It was mostly just a quick, this is what im thinking/feeling right now. I hate to have been the one to open the arguement back up again of "submission as a gift". That being said, it has just come to light that no matter how well intended my feelings were at the time, they were not enough and he and i walked away from what we were building. Is my world shattered right now? Yes, very much so. But i still feel that there is not a chance in hell that what I gave him was a gift. My love was a gift to him.. my submission is just who i am. Anyone with a sturn manner with a whip in his hand at the time can exact the same manner of submission from me I am sure... it takes someone special to open me up enough to give love.
