No, not all are. But that's why I'm forbidden from having any number tattooed on my body, with the only possible exceptions being a marriage date or the date of a child's birth. Valyraen doesn't feel it is kosher.

As far as tattoos, modifications (from piercings to surgery) and the like go, I really feel those should be agreed on mutually. Either that you both want it done or that you agree to let her make whatever decisions regarding your body she likes.

i recently watched a friend of mine brand her fiance's first marriage date off his arm....it took 3 times and there is now a rut in his arm where it was tattooed...but its what he wanted done...

Status: offline 		Yeah, I doubt we would ever put a wedding date on my body. We agree with the superstition that putting a wedding date or someone's name on you is just asking for trouble in your relationship. I could see myself getting the birth date of a child though.

kitten, who is mostly moved, and really exhausted.....

Status: offline 		My view on tattoos is that if you take the time to choose one that means something to you and represents something significant in your life that even when that period of you life passes you will still be able to love the reminder you have of it. Master and i have spoken about me getting another tattoo - one that we both like and represents our relationship. If the relationship were to ever end, i would be happy to have a reminder of it forever on me - as it would still be a part of me. (I would avoid getting anything like 'sissy' or 'slut' tattooed on me though!!) But tattoos are not for everyone - and you are well within your rights to say no!!

But it was put there after we knew we choose for each-other. We've been in a relationship since 1988. It took about five years before the marking.

Status: offline 		A body modification of ANY kind is a serious step, but if it's done at the behest of someone that you love and trust deeply, it can be an amazing experience. Basically, it all boils down to what you want. And you need to think to yourself... Is this a soft limit, something I am willing to delve into with proper time, discussion, and care, or is it a hard limit? Once you've figured all of that out, talking things over with your Mistress in open, honest terms is the way to go. If you don't feel that you are ready for it, or want it, it is Her duty to you to respect those boundaries. Any Dom/me who fails to acknowledge your limits and respect them is not someone who can be trusted with your submission.

All of that said, the decision is one that, for all intents and purposes, is going to be permanent. When in doubt, hold off. You can always get it done later if you want to, but once you've done it, you can't just take it back. I hope this helps, and good luck sorting all of this out for yourself.

Status: offline 		How wonderful :) I am all for tattoos and symbolising ownership and markings.

An intimate mark of some description, tattoo, cut or branding, especially when the both concerned only know what it symbolises and stands for/means.

I have a branding iron on order from a blacksmiths in the UK,  maybe oneday I will use it and mark a special one with My ornate "R". For now, I will use red ink to stamp My mark with lol :)

how big is this over all ornate R?  because with the nature of a branding iron and the human skin unless it is about 1 foot square, what i am pictureing would turn out to be just one big blob....

Status: offline 		I agree permanent marks are way more to think about and way more reserved for a long term commitment IMO.
I just collared to a Master I dated 6 months.
He just informed me we're going to do a chastity piercing.
LOl I never thought I'd be getting my pink parts pierced, but am willing for him.
I'd not have took his collar as his slave if I was not willing to give my body to him to use as he sees fit.
Permanent or temporary, vanilla public places on my body, or private, the choice is his.
Yes, I agree it's not like that for everyone, but I wouldn't have it any other way in the TPE relationship I'm in.
I can also say I'm 99% confident Master Rorie would not want to maim me, or mark me inappropriately for vanilla public.
He's a Master who wants the innocent, elegant, educated, charming, good girl in public & the marked slave at home and in the dungeon.

Status: offline 		As I see it, D/s or whatever, probably my own level,but I would never demand such things of a submissive.Submission is fine with me,if the submissive CHOSE to do so,it would be indeed an honour as I see it. If a submissive chose these things, Then I would be there for the submissive and supporting what they wanted.

Yes horrible things were done to jewish people in nazi concentration camps.
Yes Japanese were wronged when they were hearded into concentration camps in the US.
Yes bad things were done to black people when whites owned slaves.
Yes women have had a 'hard row to hoe' throughout history.
Hell white people have been wronged due to ongoing affimitaive action.
It does not matter what race, creed, gender or color you are, bad, sometimes horrible things have lurked out there in this evil world looking for victims.

I do not say that these things were ok.
I am not saying any of these things should be forgotten. Heaven knows if they are forgotten, they will happen again.
But, people now, to whom these things did not happen, need to get over them. Move on and help make a better world.
Don't keep tossing around the, "Well my XXXXX was mistereated by XXXXX, so you need to kiss MY ass and make it better!", attitude.

Status: offline 		As one might assume my screen name leads you to believe I'm tattoo'd, and you'd be correct, infact somebody held me down and drew the fuck all over me! lol But seriously, finishing off full sleeves I'm way past the point of "how many tats do you have?" a better question would be how many hours under the needle I have in. That being said I absolutely love the fact my slave in unmarked. Not because I want to ink her up and have a clean canvas to do so, but I want her body kept in the pristine condition that it is. she exudes pure elegance to me. Now piercing you say? Ohh I have seen a number of piercings I believe would be fantastic on her, but frankly, I wouldn't be able to stay out of her long enough to let anything heal properly!
