Status: offline 		Okay, we had a tie in Greatest Female Vocalist poll between Karen Carpenter and Whitney Houston,or, as DG calls them, the dead white chick and the crack ho.

Poll runs until Wednesday at midnight.

i think Amy Lee has an incredible voice...but, then, i also think Enya, Maev Ni Mhaolchatha, ChloeAgnew, Orla Fallon, Mairead Nesbitt, Lisa Kelly and Deirdre Shannon are incredible as well

Between the two listed, i'd have to go with Whitney...regardless of her drug problem, she had/has a decent voice.

McLachlan is incredible, I would not have been unhappy to see her win.

Status: offline 		I have to admit, I didn't participate in the female vocalists polls.  *pretty ballsy of me to be here now, isn't it?  That's just how I roll *  What I have noticed, via Level's post, is that people seem to choose a great vocalist based on the type of music they enjoy, rather than on the voice itself.  It's rather like comparing apples to oranges.

So, with that in mind, for this particular poll, I voted for the crack ho, for a couple of reasons.  One, while dead white chick had a very pleasing voice, a very mellow voice with a nice range, and good balance, she wasn't very dynamic.  Crack ho, on the other hand, had a greater range, more power and far more flexibility.
